Lessons Learned on the Farm

• Jun. 10, 2008 - Some girls like flowers

Posted in Funny Farm

I mean, why sit in a regular old nesting box
when you can have a primo spot on the front porch complete with flowers?

Oh, you mean this isn't a nest? What do you mean it was "just for decoration"?

I am SO embarrassed, truly I am. Mortified actually.
I can't believe that I was so presumptuous.
How will I ever show my face again?!

I'll just be leaving now.  Pretend I was never here. Maybe the flowers will fluff back up.
And what's that camera for?
Hey, put that down.
You're not going to BLOG about this are you?

Ummm, that egg?
It's a gift -  for you.
I meant to do that. Really...

PS - Are any of you Green Acres fans? This little hen has reminded me of the episodes in Season One where Lisa talks to her hen and "orders" the number of eggs she wants. Can any of you remember that hen's name? I have been wracking my brain, watching the DVDs, and googling trying to find that name. It's kind of driving me a bit nutso.

I love the photos, Nancy! That is too funny :) . Thanks for dropping by my blog. I've not been blogging much these days; I try to spend as much time outside as I can before the heat sets in LOL!

I would definitely see if you have any Pennyroyal growing wild around you :) . It is a great insect repellant. It grows fairly flat on the ground and has a minty scent- one that you would suspect to be a good bug repellant, though. I'm hoping mine will grow enough to plant several cuttings throughout the yard.
It was good to hear from you!
Blessings,
Catherine

That is so cute, and you were actually able to catch it on film or chip or whatever it is called now days. I'm not a Green Acres fan, but my husband is. He bursts out in the theme song at random times. It cracks my girls up.

That's funny that she left you an egg. Don't watch much Green Acres, so I don't know that chicken's name. Let us know when you finally discover it.
