Did you know that The Old Schoolhouse and Answers in Genesis are friends? I just saw an entry on Ken Ham's blog about Paul & Gena joining them for their Christmas party. How cool is that?!
You can read it for yourself here. I was kind of wondering why Jen didn't get invited, but then I remembered that SOMEONE had to watch the kids.
I think it is so cool that Answers in Genesis and The Old Schoolhouse share a common vision of equipping others with a Biblical Worldview.
This spring I was able to go to an Answers in Genesis Conference in a nearby town. As I sat in the church sanctuary looking around at all of the families there, I actually had a chill bumps kind of moment. I realized that my sons and all of those children sitting there were being equipped with information that I didn't get until I started teaching my own children about a Biblical Worldview. I was so encouraged that we ARE raising up a generation of Christian warriors. They will not just readily accept the millions and millions of year junk that I was taught was factual and they will even be able to defend what they believe and explain why.
And to be honest, Answers in Genesis is what is equipping us to teach our children. We needed a resource to help us weed through all of the junk that we were taught. So I think it's awesome that The Old Schoolhouse partners with AIG.
If you haven't ever gotten to go to an AIG Conference, click here to see where one is near you. My husband wasn't able to go because of work, but we will make sure that he is able to get to one soon. My 8 year old loved the Buddy Davis classes (which sold out!) and while my 13 year old was a little overwhelmed by how smart Ken Ham was, he got a lot out of it too. I took tons of notes and we talked about it all the way home. And now, my 13 year old can explain the main points as well as I can. We've ordered some AIG materials and will continue to order more as we go along. They are so awesome!
Go browse around on their website and see what all they have to offer and tell them that The Old Schoolhouse sent you! |
