• Sep. 16, 2008 - Wow, I've Got A Lot To Say Today!
- We learned that the winds from Hurricane Ike actually reached all the way to our little section of Kentucky. When we woke up Sunday morning, we noticed some large branches down in the yard and that my covered swing was knocked over. Later while we were eating brunch, the wind grabbed my metal gazebo on the patio and tossed it into our sliding glass doors. I was pretty happy that it didn't break the glass, but I am SO sad that it destroyed my gazebo. That was my most favoritest place to sit. I shall press on though slightly uncovered.
- The horse and the sheep are now friends. If you remember correctly, Billy (the horse) couldn't STAND Baab (the lamb) when we first got him. He would kick, snort, and charge at him. Now the two have decided to be BFF and are pretty much always at each others side. The funny thing is that originally Baab was more bonded with our dogs. He would even run with them to greet people at their cars. Joseph noticed the change in Baab recently and commented on how sheep really do pick up on what they're around. When Baab hung out with the dogs, he acted like a dog. Now he hangs out with the horse and acts like a horse. Pretty insightful, huh?
- I had a fabulous time at my 20 year high school reunion. I went to a very small rural school and had an exceptional experience there. Even after all these years, it was great to see them all again. I actually set up a Shutterfly Share Site for all of us to share the photos we took at the reunion. Have you all checked those out yet? VERY cool. It could work really well for homeschool groups and the such.
- I've been staying really busy with work since the launch of our Fall Special. We work really hard to put together great offers and I just happen to think that the Fall Special is our best one to date.

If you already are a TOS Subscriber and you've had your eye on that cute little Homeschooling with Heart tote bag, this is the BEST time to renew. You'll tack on two years to your sub, get the tote bag and free gifts, AND save $5, but that ends today!
If you have just been thinking about subscribing, let me just remind you that it's a great time to subscribe too. The gifts REALLY are fabulous. We worked hard to get all physical gifts (no downloads) because some folks didn't like the downloads. We've thrown in the current issue with a two year sub for free so that you don't have to wait months for the next issue. And there are still plenty of those Homeschooling with Heart tote bags available. I think some people worry that we're going to sell out in the first few days. (Oh, how I wish!) But we do still have many of those available and we WANT to have you all happily toting them to your support group meetings!
- And then that brings me to my last point. Whew, I bet you all thought we'd never get here. (I can just hear folks shouting, Finally!) If you'd like some jazzy TOS banners to put on your blog or website, I can hook you up! In fact, you can get them through our affiliate program AND earn some money if people click through them to buy TOS products in the Schoolhouse Store. (So please click right on through that pretty banner up top and help a sister out!) BUT also, man I'm rambling, there is a contest on the Front Porch where you can win an ipod for becoming a TOS affiliate. There are less than 20 entries on there right now and the drawing is one week away so you've got a pretty good chance at winning! Please join us as an affiliate. Even "I" figured out how to get the banner at the top so I KNOW you all can do it too. And if you've got tough questions, we've got a guy named Danny that can help you out. He's kind of handy with techy stuff.
Thanks for sticking with all of my ramblings today. I always appreciate hearing from you all. I haven't been able to visit blogs as much lately because we keep exceeding our bandwidth allowance through Wildblue. Would it be really bad for me to ask everybody to pray that SOONER, rather than later Bellsouth DSL will become available in our area? This is just really becoming a MAJOR, MAJOR issue for us and I'd just like a little deliverance from the binds that are satellite internet.
And thus ends my Tuesday ramble.
