It's hard to believe that our baby is 4, but he sure is.  He's growing so quickly and learning so much right now.  Four is always one of my favorite ages with the boys and I'm already enjoying it with Jon.  He sits still a little bit more and even stayed still long enough for us to put a puzzle together yesterday.  He's really into make believe and super heroes - Batman, Spiderman, The Thing, Dash from The Incredibles. We gave him a Batman costume for his birthday and he's hardly wanted to take it off.  He takes it so seriously and likes to pose looking strong and watching his cape fly behind him.  I've been reading Captivating by John & Stasi Eldredge.  They talk about the fundamental question that is at the heart of every little boy,  Do I have what it takes?  All that rough and tumble, all that daring and superhero dress up, all of that is a boy seeking to prove that he does have what it takes.

Just take a look at that face.  He knows he's got what it takes and we think so too! 

Before I was even pregnant, my husband and I heard a sermon about courage and faith.  The preacher used examples of Jonathan and Andrew.  Tony and I looked at each other and knew that we would have a Jonathan Andrew someday.  Jon has two older brothers so things can be pretty busy around our house sometimes, but we all know how blessed we are.  Jon has always shown a lot of courage and faith.  He is so brave and strong - not afraid of the dark, not afraid to jump in there with the big boys; but he also shows a lot of faith.  Right now it's in his dad, brothers and I.  He just thinks that we can rescue him, fix anything and will always be there for him.  I love it.  I know that God has special things in store for this little guy and I look forward to seeing how God uses Jon's courage and faith.
