• Nov. 21, 2008 - 12 Days of Christmas Unit Study Ebook - FREE!
I mentioned in this week's THM about how TOS subscribers could get the 12 Days of Christmas Unit Study from Hands of a Child for free in this month's Teacher's Toolbox.
And right in the newsletter I linked to the Teacher's Toolbox which includes the download. But apparently email programs and ISP's are fickle, fickle tools and some of them block the links! I've gotten a handful or so of emails from people asking about it so I figure that I'd share the info here as well.
Sometimes I think that our monthly freebies in the Teacher's Toolbox are some of our best kept secrets. Homeschool moms are busy and sometimes they just delete stuff from their inbox not even realizing that there is a WHOLE FREE UNIT STUDY in there, plus lots of other helpful tips. The print version of the 12 Days of Christmas Project Pack actually sells for $16.00 in the Schoolhouse Store! This isn't just a sample of a few pages. It's the WHOLE ebook that the folks at Hands of a Child are just kind enough to share this project pack in ebook form with our TOS Magazine subscribers.
So just in case you're one of my blog readers and you missed it in THM this week, let me just share again the link to this month's Teacher's Toolbox. You usually don't get this link unless you're a TOS subscriber, but it had some great Christmas ideas in it that I wanted to share with you all.
So once you get to the Teacher's Toolbox, just scroll to the bottom to where it says download this month's freebie by clicking here.
Once you get to the download page, you'll just need to enter your phone number to verify that you are a TOS subscriber. If you run into any trouble, you can always email customerservice@thehomeschoolmagazine.com and one of our friendly ladies will be happy to help!
I hope you all get to enjoy this great unit study. If you try it out, I'd love to hear what you think about it and what you think about our Teacher's Toolbox. I'm always looking for good testimonials and for people to spread the word. Feel free to grab the ebook cover above and share with people how TOS subscribers can download the 12 Days of Christmas Unit Study E-Book.

Do you have a button inviting people to subscribe to TOS and receive 19 free gifts on your blog? Well it's time to change it!
TOS has an even better offer now - Buy a one-year subscription for $25 and receive 25 free gifts! And we have some pretty new banners and buttons that you all can use. Just pick which fits your blog the best! Need help getting a button on your blog? Read this entry.

It's quick and easy and if someone clicks through your banner to buy a subscription, you earn a percentage of the sale! You can even earn money on other items they buy through the Schoolhouse Store. It's really a great deal.
PS - Yes, I know that I still have an old button on my sidebar. Everytime I try to change anything on my sidebar, it throws my template all crazy off. I need template help.... sigh....

• Jan. 15, 2007 - My Winter TOS Just Arrived
Well it's a rainy day here in Kentucky, the temperature is finally starting to drop, and I just got my box of the Winter issue of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine. I have about 20 different things that I need to be doing, but I took a few minutes to do a quick browse through it and I was so blessed.
You all will jut HAVE to read JenIg's editorial, The Unlovables, in this issue. Jen shares her testimony in the article and will remind you to just keep praying for those folks who are making cruddy decisions even when they seem determined to follow the wrong path. That article was just so encouraging to me and reminded me to not get discouraged and give up hope. People may not always change when you want them to, but you just can't quit praying and give up hope. There is hope. God can reach the most thick-skinned, unlovable folks and transform their lives. What a wonderful reminder.
And there are lots of other wonderful articles in there too. Stuff about homeschool support groups, a great article from Dr. Brian Ray (the homeschool research guy), recipes for making your own natural cleaners, and so much more. Hey there is even a great article in there about hunting that the guys will enjoy too. Oh and a BUNCH of our blogging buddies have articles in there too.
You definitely won't want to miss this issue. It may still be a couple of weeks before you get your regular subscription, but hang in there. It's definitely worth the wait. And maybe I can tease you all some more later. Right now I've got to get back to work!

• Sep. 19, 2006 - Tune in Thursday
• Sep. 7, 2006 - Gena's on the Radio
Well at least she WAS. I mean it was hours ago, but she just now spilled the beans and let us all know about it. She got all flustered because her phone rang and then she got all out of breath trying to get away from the phone. How's that for real-life?! I think she did a GREAT job though. She is so friendly and just loves to talk homeschooling and that totally comes through ... even if she is a little winded. Listen online and hear for yourself. And then go tell Gena what a great job she did.

• Jul. 1, 2006 - One of my new favorite bloggers...
Well my very own son has finally signed up for his own blog. Once you go see it, you'll immediately know what his favorite hobby is. Our friend, Heidi, helped us work with a photo program to customize his template some and he still wants to do more to it, but he learned a lesson all of you can relate to I bet - you can't do anything with a template in "just a few minutes".
So if you've got "just a few minutes", go on over to his blog and welcome him to HSB. I think he's starting to see why I love blogging. And I think his younger brother is starting to catch the fever too. We may have another blogger joining the family before long!
