Apr. 27, 2009 - The past few weeks
We've been busy with life. We decided to move to a new house on post. We moved ourselves basically down the street. It is a brand new 2 story, 4 bedroom house. I have always dreamed of having an upstairs and now it is a reality! Yeah! The downstairs is a toy free zone for the most part, so that will help with general housekeeping. We have a large room dedicated to our homeschooling.
On a sad note, my uncle died unexpectedly over Easter. We weren't very close, but it was very hard on my mom, his sister, so I was very sad for her and the rest of the family that was closer to him. My dad did a wonderful sermon at his service and it was nice to hear him speak. He is very motivational! Major Dad was away for training, as he usually is when someone in my family dies. I am glad that he is back now. I don't like grieving alone.
We went on our first field trip with our local homeschool group to a pick your own berry farm last week and it was super fun. The kids really enjoyed the field trip and we were able to meet some other homeschoolers. They got to plant seeds, release ladybugs to eat the aphids on the plants, shoot strawberries at a target and then pick strawberries. They also enjoyed some wonderful homemade strawberry icecream. Great day!
