Now, my OTHER blog, UnderCover, is where I post devotionals on how we need to live our lives for the Lord. On this blog, well, it's all my ramblings. Beware. Be ready. Be prepared. Oh and I LOVE writing, too....yeah, so trust me, this blog is full of ramblings. From football, to chocolate!!! From neices to Ky-guy!!! From make-up misadventures to malodorous minks!!! From dimes to nickels!!! From Eli to Brady!!! From coffee to decaf!!! To the whimsical world of animals from mice to musucolunges!!!!! Misspellings to microscopic beings!!!!! Enjoy, and please comment me!

I never thought it would happen to us *I had given up a hope for you *I never thought it would be true *I never thought it in the Father's plan *All the prayers all the tears *They were what formed you Baby Dear *But I never thought that I'd never kiss your face *Or that the Savior would hold you in His embrace *We weren't ready to see you go *But of this we know *We miss you little baby *But you're where you belong *Never knowing tears, pain or sorrow *Never doing any wrong *You're apart of something greater *Something bigger than the stars *You're where you should be *Apart of something heavenly *You never took your first breath *You never cooed nor cried *You were only here weeks not years *You never screamed or sighed *We never thought you'd leave us *We thought you were here to stay *We had so many dreams for you *But they were all blown away *We weren't ready to see you go *But of this we know *We miss you little baby *But you're where you belong *Never knowing tears, pain or sorrow *Never doing any wrong *You're apart of something greater *Something bigger than the stars *You're where you should be *Apart of something heavenly *We don't know why you're taken *We don't know what to say *We only know we miss you so *And the hurt won't go away *We miss you little baby *Keep playing by the Savior's side *Never knowing tears, pair or sorrow *Never being left behind *You're singing with the angles *You're dancing on the stars *You're apart of something greater *Something bigger than Mars *We'll know the answers later *But now all we know *Is we miss our little baby *But you're where you belong *Apart of something greater *You're where you should be *Apart of something heavenly *Apart of something heavenly

Contest: WRITE 2 WIN: ALL ABOUT ANIMALS

Posted on Wednesday 3 September 2008 at 8:50 AM in Contests

Contest:
Write 2 Win- All About Animals

So many people are doing contests and give-a-ways on their blogs that I had an amazing idea...I'll host my own contest for you all!!! But I'm not giving away only ONE prize.....not even TWO prizes....but THREE!! Read on!!

Here's How It Works...

The contest will be divided into 3 age divisions: ages 7-11, ages 12-15, and ages 16 and up

All You Have To Do...
is to write either a poem, an essay, a story, etc. about animals and private message it to me (if you don't know how to private message on HSB, please comment me telling me so and also leave your blog address so I can help you through it) It's that simple! And it can be as short or as long as you want, as long as it has to do with animals!

Rules of Participation:

1. You MUST private message your entry. If you do not have a blog (or if you have a blog but it is not on HSB) please leave a comment asking for my permission to click the "E-Mail Me" link on my sidebar to e-mail your entry. (I'll comment you with my answer on my blog) If you send an
entry via e-mail without my permission, I will not accept your entry.

2. At the top of your entry you MUST include your name, age, blog address and/or e-mail address. I will need to know this information to know what division to place your entry in and to get ahold of you if your name is drawn for the prizes.

3. After you private message your entry (or e-mail if you do not own a blog), you MUST comment me and therefore let me know to check my private message box and to add you to my list.

4. After both commenting and sending in your entry, you MUST post about my contest on your blog and also post a link to my blog.

5. I'm pretty open to whatever you'd like to write, although I will NOT accept entries on killing animals/hunting. Also if you're doing an essay, mating is a questionable topic also so please stay away from writing on both of these. Since I have younger readers who visit this blog, neither topics will be accepted for their protection. Please stick to more educational and kid-friendly ideas.

Contest Ends: October 17th at 1 a.m.
I will do a random draw for winners for each division the morning of October 17th. The name I draw will receive a prize (there will be 1 winner in all 3 age groups) but I will also pick my favorite entry (1 from each age group) which I will post on my blog.
(The pen in the pictures is just to give you an idea of how big the prizes are)
Prize for 7-11 Division:
A certificate and two bookmarks that I thought were cute, the dog faces are made of a neat rubber, too!

Prize for 12-15 Division:
A certificate and a color pencil "by number" kit that has darling little mini pencils. lol I love itty-bitty stuff like that. ^_^

Prize for 16 and up Division:
A certificate and a 36 piece card making set (I think it makes six cards, I couldn't tell) that comes with lots of decorations to decorate your card with!

My 3 favorite entries will also receive a certificate.

Have fun writing and tell as many about the contest as you can!! I need at least 10 entries for the contest to go through, but I'd really like to see more than just 10! ^_^

Note: Even if you're not such a great writer, don't let that stop you from sending in an entry!! The prizes could go to ANYONE, including you! SO PLEASE ENTER!!!
ALSO NOTE!!!
Any new posts I'll put up will be posted UNDER this post so others can get to the contest with ease. Posts will go back AFTER OCTOBER 17TH!!!

It's time to rise and shine

Posted on Wednesday 3 September 2008 at 8:33 AM in My Crazy LIFE!

September 10th, 2008

Hello, everyone!! I hope lotsandlotsandlots of you do my contest, so far the only peoples who have entered are Pip and Lulu98 (thanks girls munches!!!)

Anyhow I've been TAGGED by Outlawed Princess!!! Thanks Meggy!!!!!! ^_^

What is your favorite book of the Bible? Proverbs, Psalms, Isaiah, and 1&2 Samuel

What are you most afraid of? I'm not really sure...

What makes you the maddest? When people rub in my face that they hunt and they know that I don't agree with it, when people don't understand me, when people don't take life seriously

What do you think is the worst kind of evil? All evil is evil and is BAD!! There is no such thing (in my eyes) as a "little sin" or a "little evil"....they're all the same in the LORD's eyes!!

What would be considered your theme song? Oh wow. Anybody wanna make one up for me?? lol

If you had to choose a villian to team up with, who would it be?  Meggy. lol

Do you think this Tag was creepy? No, the Meggy Tagg is pretty neato, never thought of her as bein' a creap!! lol =P Now her brothers......eh, we won't go into that. -_^

I'm gonna tag... Everyone who reads this!!! LET LOOSE PEOPLES!!!! ^_^ Hahaha!!

Anyhow, moving on....

School's started up again and I've come up with the conclusion that biology should be banished from schools. I had to watch a lab (I refused to do one myself) and they killed 4 fertile chicken eggs just so people could see what they look like at different developments. DA POOR CHICK!!!  *wails* Dad said I should be a vegetarian, and I would if I could (trust me, it is NOT easy when everyone around you eats meat) and then mom cut in that if I WAS a vegetarian I'd "blow away in the wind" lol

I decided today that I'd cut the grass all by my "ownself" while Keel weed-whacked and whoo hoo was that fun!! lol We just have a typical lawnmower but it was still fun-ness!! ^_^

Well I gotta go, things to do, people to hang out with, letters to write, blahblahblah, welcome to the day in the life of me.....

My love to all,

Toria

P.S. Here's some quotes I found that were really good about the Earth...

"Rather than a massive giant, it [Earth] should be thought of as a fragile Christmas tree ball which we should handle with considerable care." -William A. Anders, astronaut, Apollo 8

"The universe...is the living witness that God has indeed been at work. Understanding the nature of the creation provides a substantive basis for the faith by which we attempt to know the nature of the Creator.

"After Frank Borman had returned from his unforgettable...1968 flight around the moon in Apollo 8, he was told that a Soviet Cosmonaut recently returned from a space flight had commented that he had seen neither God nor angels on his flight. Had Borman seen God, the reporter inquired? Frank Borman replied: 'No, I did not see Him either, but I saw His evidence.'" -Dr. Wernher von Braun

"...I looked out my window and tried to find Earth.

"The little planet is so small out there in the vastness that at first I couldn't even locate it. And when I did, a tingling of awe spread over me. There it was, shining like a jewel against the black sky. I looked at it in wonderment, suddenly aware of how its uniqueness is stamped in every atom of my body.

"Suddenly I was also aware of a shift in my attitude toward Earth. I remembered what it was like down there when I walked her surface- such a splendor of diversity, such richness of color and life. And I remembered how sturdy it seemed. Beneath my feet it seemed as solid as thought it were anchored somewhere.

"Then, at that moment, in the command module there was some distraction. I looked away for a moment and, poof, Earth was gone. I couldn't find it again without searching closely.

"At that point I made my discovery. Suddenly, I knew what a tiny, fragile thing Earth is. Such a little gem, such an incredible balance of the universe's rarest ingredients, one that can be ruined all the more easily just because it is so small.

"And I determined that in that moment I would do all I could to let people know what a wonderful  home we have- before it is too late.

"So I have a personal, simple message to pass on:

"There is only one Earth. It is a tiny, precious stone. let us treasure it; there is not another one." - Michael Collins, astronaut, Apollo 8
