SuperAngel's 18th Birthday!!!

Amanda,
It's your 18th birthday!!!  YAY!!! (you already knew that, I'm sure ;-)  I want to say thanks for being such a SUPER blog friend, for writing such SUPER posts, leaving SUPER comments...it has been so fun getting to know you over the last year!!  I hope you have the BEST birthday ever!!

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
 ~ Numbers 6:23-26

I want you to know that I am praying for you that you'll become a beautiful woman, wife, and mother and live every day for the LORD.  This is a huge year for you, and I know you've gone over some rocks to get here, but you are definitely on the right path.  God has huge plans for you!!  Keep running toward Him and watch them unfold. :-)

Now, I actually made some real cupcakes for your birthday.  (Too bad you couldn't eat them!!  They were yummy!! ;-)

Here are the plates:

We can’t have a party without balloons (red, blue, and yellow of course)!!

A birthday hat:

And last but not least - your gift:

Don’t I wish!!!  Haha

Have a GREAT birthday, Amanda!!!

Much love,
Sylvia

I am late, as usual, but I was here the other day. I just didn't get to say thank you for such a wonderful blessing to Amanda! You all are so wonderful.
I love your blessing - and the cupcakes! You know, we will have to meet soon... our families.... we are not so far away from each other, you know!
Thank you for your sweet friendship to the girls, my dear.
Love, Mrs.D

Ooh, yummy looking cupcakes!

Goodness, it HAS been a while! Sorry it took me this long to get back to you on the September book post.

I am enjoying Lemony Snicket. I just finished the 11th book, and it's killing me to know what's going to happen. It took me a while to like his writing style, but now I do.

Lloyd Alexander--his Prydain chronicles are definitely his best that I've read so far. But the other ones are enjoyable--just not on the level of Prydain (in my opinion). I think the one I've liked next best so far is The Remarkable Journey of Prince Jen. (At least, I think that's the one.)

You should definitely try Agatha Christie. If you get the chance, try one with the detective Hercule Poirot. He's my favorite.

And I'm impressed by your September list because, short though it might be, it looks like it contains a lot of brain busters! Most of mine are children's books. But I'm trying to branch out a little. I think I'd like to try Lawhead (you had him on your list).

I posted my October list--I'd love to hear the six you read! And I'll check out librarything...I'm not sure if I've been there or not.

RYC: Shakespeare was such a great writer. It is amazing what he put into his plays. It was his life! Sometimes I wish that I could have been born into an age without computers and such, I guess I'll have to be a modern writer. Blah.

As you said, Shakespeare's writing is "it’s tasteful and fulfilling."

Congradulations on the news of siblings number seven! Seems all my friends are adding a eighth to their family...if any...interesting how that goes. I only wish my mother would hurry up and start planning on number twelve. *sigh*

Anyway...indeed, happy birthday to SuperAngel. I'm certainly certain she'll have a great birthday...

RYC: As I said rote prayers are ok, but they are not the best. If I prayed to God and said "Holy, holy, holy" and really meant it but that was all I prayed it would be kinda' pointless. There are much better ways to pray.

If we say the same prayer over and over again soon it become meaningless.

"Sing to the lord a new song!"

If you look into the psalms, David doesn't repeat himself over and over again. The psalms wouldn't have been created if he had. I don't see any evidance of Jesus praying the same prayer over and over.

Jesus said "This, then, is how you should pray" (referring to the Lord's prayer). Jesus wasn't saying that we should only pray using the Lord's prayer he was giving an outline of what a prayer should consist of.

Our Father in heaven, (praise)
hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come, (my will line up with yours)
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread. (supplication)
Forgive us our sins, (confession)
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, (supplication)
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours.(praise)
Now and for ever. Amen

A well rounded prayer should consist of praise, supplication, confession, supplication, praise.

Anyway, just my thoughts to get YOUR wheels turning. Lol! JK.
