Sep. 7, 2006 - Well
The first day of school was a disaster. Yep thats what it was. D was miserable the whole time. He whinned and cried about everything. The other two who I was just doing to include them to make it easier on myself and for fun, were way too eager and yelling for me every two seconds. Needless to say nothing was easier. I had a splitting headache by noon and was ready to throw in the towel. Since then I have done some thinking and said well I will not send my kids to school in the district we live in and we aren't moving so you better get your butt in gear and figure something out! So the solution for day two was to do preschool in to morning for the little ones (just for fun and because they ask to) and do D's first grade stuff while they are napping. It went well. Maybe all he wanted was to have more one on one time with me I just don't know. While this may work for now, it won't last. C just turned 4 so if I am lucky I have one more year of him napping..but I am not counting on that long! So I am sitting here hoping for things to continue smoothly.

Sometimes it takes a long time to figure out just what works. And of course, once you do, you can be sure it'll change the next year.... My philosophy is...if we're having a bad day, put away the books and play a game!
