Sep. 13, 2006 - the last few days
The last few days have not been good. Monday morning the boys and I were on our way to their haircut appointment when we were in an accident. No one was hurt, shaken but not hurt. The other guy went to the hospital, but I guess now he is ok, not really sure about that We were not even two minutes from our house when it happened. I was approaching a green light and about to turn left when we were side swiped by a sixty-eight year old man who ran the red light. He drove right past a cop who was stopped at the red light. Apparently he didn't see a thing. As far as I know he never hit his brakes, so he hit us going 35-40 mph. M had an asthma attack but he managed to settle himself down before B got there with his medicine. I called him as soon as we calmed down a little and he came right up. He didn't even bother to put his shoes on, he came up in his socks. Our Jeep Grand Cherokee is totaled. So now we need to find a new car, but can't do anything untill we find out how much this guys insurance company is gioing to give us for our Jeep. B goes to pick up the rental tonight. I thank God no one was hurt and the worst thing is we need a new car. It is horrible because sometimes you can't help but think of all the what ifs. What if he was driving a bigger car or a truck? (he was driving a Chevy Lumina). The hardest thing for me to get over is that I saw him coming and there was nothing I could do to get my children out of harms way.
But oh well it is over now and we are all ok. Now we just get to deal with insurance comanies for a while.
Well I was going to post a picture of the Jeep but apparently it is too big and I have no idea how to make it smaller.

I am so sorry to hear about your accident! How very scary.
I hope school is going smoother. I found the year that Katie was 3 /4 years old the hardest year because it was hard to schol her much older sister.
I was a bad mom...and sat her in front of the television. Now that she is six I am having an easier time...my little girl is finally entertaining herself...
but...she sure likes to watch tv.
