Everyone thinks I'm nuts. I like it that way!

What? A homeschooler that makes club dance music? Yup! This blog speaks of music, politics, religion, life, and just plain randomness or ranting.

Microwaves, car trips, and plumbing, oh my!

Posted at 9:57 AM on Sep. 10, 2007
Well, it's another entry.  Since my last entry we've gotten back home to AZ after having driven 870 miles straight from Denver to Phoenix.  16 long hours of driving...ugh.  Don't really want to go through that again, heh.   That was on Friday.  We left Denver at 5:30 (AZ time) and got home at 9:30.

Well, the next day we discovered that our microwave had finally decided to give up the ghost.  My mom thought she had it on a timer setting, but the front of it was getting really hot and it smelled like it was burning.  My dad went and turned off the power to shut off the microwave, and then the main house electrical circuit promptly shut itself down.  No power at all in our house for about 20 minutes, which was rather interesting.

Later that day we discovered that our kitchen sink was totally clogged up.  We couldn't run our dishwasher or use the sink, which is REALLY BAD when you've got dishes to wash for a family of 11 people!  So the plumber came out on Sunday (and we got charged 2x as much because of it) and fixed it, and now everything works again.  Hopefully, nothing else blows within the next week!

Another thing that made this weekend hard for me and for our family was our youth pastor resigned from our church.  He felt like God wanted him to move on, so....yeah.  It's a big bummer for me, especially since he's not the only one from our youth leadership that's gone.  Our band leader and our head sound tech guy both left as well, along with some other leadership.  This leaves ME in charge of sound tech--which is a great privilege, but I'd rather be second fiddle.  Especially since I really respect the guy who was in charge before, even though we both know about the same amount about sound tech.

Also, my youth pastor and the band leader were the two most influential men in my life besides my dad, so it's really hard to see them go.  *Sigh*

Well, life goes on and so does the school year.  Since I'm back home I'm probably not going to have nearly as much time for blogging as I did on vacation.  I now have school and work to attend to, as well as all my church stuff.  So, I'm probably not going to be posting every day.  Keep leaving comments though, I'll try to return them!

In closing, here's a few hands-up dance songs worth listening to:

Mangoo - Eurodancer (Penta P Mix)
Nitronix - N-R-G
Exer - Wake Up and Feel

Until next time!
