Mitchell has been taking a beginner drawing class at our Kingdom Kids Coop. He produced this great pencil drawing of a cardinal. I was so proud of him and pleased for him to feel a sense of accomplishment! Since this drawing he has more confidence in attempting other drawings. I am so thankful, because often times, he gives up when a task is difficult.
He presented it to me and I told him we would frame it and hang it up. He took matters into his own hands this weekend and set out to find a picture frame at our neighborhood garage sale. Pedaling on his bike, with his drawing, by himself, he went shopping for a frame. He spotted one and rode home to ask Troy if he could buy it. When Troy went back with him (three doors down), the seller, was so pleased with his drawing, calling him an "artist", she said the frame was free. He was thrilled to show me and it is now proudly displayed in our living room.
Madilynn's little strawberries! She squealed with excitement at seeing them.
Also at Coop., Mitchell is taking gardening. This is his rye grass chia pet. I tossed in the football "egg" and it sets on our kitchen table for decoration. Chia, cha, cha, cha Chia! Remember those commercials!
This is a tooth that Madilynn knocked out of her mouth! It was loose, but she swung her arms and accidentlay socked herself in the mouth. She screamed!! It scared her as she thought she knocked all her "big" teeth out!
Just snapping pics. This is Cache, our beautiful 21 month old Golden Retriever. We love her so much!
After a less than desirable beginning one morning, I had given a mini lecture to the kids about obedience. This was Madilynn's attempt at an apology. I thought the attempt was so sweet and she did pretty good sounding out the words. She is in Kinder. SRE MOMY - Sorry Mommy.
We have been reading so many good books. Below is a link to see them all!
I love his drawing, he's definitely got talent! How wonderful that he set out on his own to get that frame and it probably made him feel more proud of his accomplishment since he did it himself.
Cassidy, I know I've said it before to you, but really I am so proud of how you have just slipped right into this homeschooling thing and have made it work for your family! It can be hard and many times that first year is the one that makes or breaks you. You've managed to make it look easy! Probably because it's evident you love your kiddos and believe in what you're doing.
Have a wonderful day and blessings, Julie
That is an awesome drawing! Love the Chia grass with the football - very creative! And, wow, what a great apology - your kids are so precious! Miss you guys!
I am a wife and Mother who's brain moves too fast, in too many directions, at the same time! I am quite eclectic and dichotomos in my approach to most things. I love French Country, painted furniture, flawless, traditional wood finishes and chippy peely, old treasures.
Something old next to something new is so charming. Sparkly is great if kept to a minimum. Needing schedule and list to accomplish most things, I get bored quickly with routines. I love conservative talk radio!
Chocolate is a fav as is cheesecake, pizza and fish tacos. I enjoy baking, cooking with new recipes, reading, being outside with the family, camping and watching a good movie. Writing is fun for me and maybe, just maybe one day I will write a book!
I wish I had a library in my house and the time to read each book.
