Yesterday, I spent the day in the kitchen. First I made banana wheat muffins which turned out great. Then I made wheat bread which flopped. Next I made Cabbage Casserole which was a success and yet my Israeli Salad absolutely flopped! Finally, I canned 6 quarts of tomatoes and forgot to add Lemon juice to each quart! I learned these lessons:
1. Don't try to do too many things in one day.
2. IF you add 2 pkges yeast to a Rapid rise recipe and the flour used was self rising...it ain't gonna work!
3. Only use fresh vegetables in a fresh vegetable salad or the old ones will turn the salad bitter.
4. Don't try to do the canning and cook dinner at the same time - too many distractions! Can early in the day!
