Wildlife Fish Fry

Hey y’all, Happy April Fools Day. Thursday I went fishing. But I just caught three crappie. So out of a week I caught a total of 21 fish. Anyway, after all the fish that I’ve caught, my parents decided to have a fish fry, so I got to learn how to filet fish. The way you filet a fish is you cut the meat off the fish so that when you eat it you don’t have to worry about eating any bones.  It’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it. When everything was cooked and ready, I finally got to taste the fish that I caught.  The fish was great it really hit the spot, but fish wasn’t the only thing we had, my Mom made french-fries, hushpuppies, and we had fried rattlesnake. Ok before y’all say “yuck!” I need to tell you that it was great it tasted like chicken. At first, I didn’t think it was going to taste good, I thought it would be chewy and tough but it wasn’t; it was tender and delicious. All of our farm neighbors kept telling us that when we kill a rattlesnake to keep the snake’s meat because they had fried rattlesnake before and they said that it tasted great.  But some of these people also eat chicken gizzards, too. So the last rattlesnake that my Dad killed, he kept the meat and said that we should try it. And after eating it I thought to myself, “For once, venomous snakes have a purpose.” My Mom said that this was our wildlife dinner ;). Anyway, that’s all for now and once again Happy April Fools Day!

Our dogs would definitely agree with you about great tasting snakes, whenever one of them finds a grass snake around here, they slurp them up like spaghetti, It's really funny to watch.
As for tasting like chicken, I'd heard about that somewhere els before.

Cool!!! Rattlesnakes and Chicken gizzards!! GROSS!! lol. I've never read Harry Potter but I've read Series of Unfortunate Events and Narnia!! I love both!! Sorry I haven't blogged in a while but I was either sick or on vacation.
The stories I like to write are adventure/action, weapons, some blood, yeah...I'm a little gross. Sometimes I get a little carried away!! Just a little! lol.

Hi, this is Holly, Will and Ben's mom. Are the venomous glands of the rattle snake all the in head? I was wondering how you know for sure that your dinner if venom free. How often do you see rattle snakes. They are very rare around here. One last question, how do I find your virtual pet fish Pablo? I wanted to try feeding him. Cool blog. Thanks.
