Well it's Memorial Day Weekend again. I can't believe another year has gone by and I have one more son. My, how quickly life takes swift corners, so hang on for the ride.
So our church holds an annual church campout. People from all over come for it. It's quite exciting, and my boys depend on going each year. Being a part of our little country assembly leaves Den and I with a lot of responsibility towards it as well. We normally have a sign up sheet at our church where we sign up for bringing food, running games for 12 and under, helping with the big morning breakfast, and of course my favorite.... the huge camp clean up...lol. So that is all a part of our camping experience, but I must say its worth every dime and every sore muscle. Yes, I do get a workout through it all. It keeps you hopping throughout the 4 days.
So, our dilemma this year was that we have a couple of sick members in our assembly who will not be able to attend, and one had requested that a few members stay back, and my hubby signed up to help take care of them. So that left me in a quandry, should I stay home and enjoy him at home with the boys, or take on the adventure with 5 boys without him? So after much prayer I decided to go. The church has set aside a cabin with a private shower and heat for me and my younger 3, the older two have a new tent that they are thrilled about setting up, so how could I refuse? (Den will be coming up for Sunday meeting, however.)
I have asked the two oldest to sign up for breakfast making, since Den won't be there. So that leaves me going one morning, and each of them taking a morning shift on a different day. Levi will stay in the cabin with Roman until he wakes up, and then he will take him into the large dining hall to eat. I am feeling rather brave, taking on this endeavor without my biggest helper, Den. I do know that the older boys will be a help to me if I need them to. I want them to have an awesome time, so I will keep it to a minimum, but I am sure that I will need extra hands during some of this campout.
The best part is seeing the anticipation and excitement on their faces. They are very proud that Mom decided to take this on without Dad this year. This way they will continue with the annual memories. I have heard "Thank You" at least a hundred times, so this is what is clouding my better judgement for the time being....hehehe So I will write of my moments in the trenches.....urrrrrrrr adventures when I return. I sure hope you guys have a great weekend tooooo!!
"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. (Titus 2:3-5)
 "Let's Get in Shape!"
Just packing, loading, finishing laundry and getting all around by myself today. This will have to do, cuz who has time to get on the treadmill...hehehe |
