I Work From Son Up To Son Down

Frog Legs Anyone?

This is the frog, the culprit in crime.

Levi and Abram retrieved it once it was tossed outside, so

I took another photo of them holding it.

Why God made me a mother of all boys I will never know until I walk through those pearly gates, because I scare quite easy, if you don't know this about me feel free to read my Salesman Post. Today I was on the phone to my friend, Cheryl, and while holding Roman I mosied into the kitchen to scavenge a little something to snack on. As I am standing there, holding the baby, I see a clean plate placed on top of my clear glass bread pan. It's been there all day, but for some reason I haven't investigated this odd placement of dishes. So while listening to Cheryl chatting I decide to put these dishes away. I lift the plate off the oblong baking dish when low and behold there is a green frog underneath that jumps out. I scream my famous "Thriller" scream, which in turn makes Roman cry out, which of course causes Cheryl's conversation to cease and ask, "What's wrong?!" I declare there is a FROG in my kitchen. She gets tickled and begans to laugh, while Roman is still leaned over my shoulder crying from a broken heart, this poor boy has so much to learn about his Mama.

The other two boys leap up with excitement to see this green springy piece of muscle that they gladly retrieve and put back in the glass container. I ask them which one brought it in, but the response is neither one. So this brings me to the conclusion that it was one of my other three. Den, River, or Isaiah, oh did I mention they are back? Okay, well now you know, THEY ARE BACK!

I guess, they must have found him this morning and decided to brighten my dull day by placing this amphibian in my clean dishes on top of my kitchen counter. Do they know their mother is a heart attack waiting to happen? Yesssssss! I am also quite sure that Den allowed the whole thing to take place with a wry grin on his face, thinking of the outcome! He is still a boy at heart! Well they will be pleased to discover tonight that it all went well as planned.

He is now on the loose in the greenery below our deck, no frog legs for dinner tonight. There just wasn't enough meat on those miniature bones to go to the all work, but that would have been a good turn-around wouldn't it have been?  Shake them up a little bit...hehehe I just don't have the heart.....remember I am still a GIRL!

Too too funny! It's actually a cute little critter sitting here from the comfort of my home, knowing that it isn't anywhere near me. =) I bet you had to rewash all those clean dishes you had sitting out. (Beautiful plate by the way!) Those boys!! All of them made of snips and snails and puppy dog tails! =) Your story reminds me of when my girfriends had gotten together and were having a lovely afternoon when one of the girls' brothers poked his nose in and let loose a handful of grasshoppers. There were girls standing on chairs and screaming from every corner of the room! =) It must give boys a thrill to hear girls scream. Shame on those boys!

We just got back from a 4th of July parade! It was fun! Titus was quite the grouch - it was his nap time - but we made it through okay!
Hope all is well with you! Happy 4th! =)

Cheryl: Those boys indeed! Well I told Den of my frog mishap, and he laughed heartily. Oh and HE was the one who put it there! He said it was hopping around in the living room that morning, the boys had left the back door open and it found its way in, he guessed. So he said he couldn't let it go to waste, knowing that Levi and Abram would get such a kick out of it. hmmmmm what a good daddy, always thinking like a boy. =)

Leah: Wash the dishes? Nah....hehehe Yes, they got a thorough washing for sure! There is something about a girly scream that is QUITE pleasing to a boy I think...lol
Oh, how fun to go to a parade, what a good Mommy you are. Although a cranky baby is always a challenge, I am sure you weathered it beautifully. We are going to the Lake today (102' is the forecast), and we will bring a picnic and hang out and wait for the fireworks tonight. Abram is READY READY READY, I dont think we can load up fast enough....oh my =)

You are so right, I only jest when I wonder why God gave me all boys, I know that I have a special work with them too. I believe each parent has the children that God has planned for them, and we are all blessed to have them!
I am glad that this post gave you a little birthday laughter. Laughter is a wonderful thing!! Happy Birthday and 4th of July even if you are in Canada!

Jul. 4, 2006 - Frogs

One night I came downstairs and there looked to be a moth on my front door (inside). But then it leaped instead of flying!! It was a frog. It was the cutest little thing, but I woke my husband up to handle it and get the critter back outside.

On another note, I can only partially see your posts again. I'm not sure why. The last time I was here I could see them fine.

Hugs,
Dawn

OH MY GOSH! I would have been screaming also but it wasn't me and I did get a good laugh. I haven't had time lately to look and see what everyone has been up to and I have missed reading your blogs and getting a good laugh. Colin and I have taken a few days off...okay I needed the days off! Hopefully you won't find anymore critters in the kitchen for awhile anyway.

Take Care,
Vickie

Jul. 7, 2006 - Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the sweet congratulations! We truly cannot wait until January and our little bundle of joy arrives. :) I've enjoyed catching up on your life with all of those exciting boys around! My, my...I do shudder at your frog story, though... There's few things I hate more than toads and frogs. We had one in our house once growing up and I remember a few "thriller screams" being let loose! =o)

Your blog is great - I'm looking forward to keeping up with your fun life!

Smiles,
Myklin

I hate creepy crawly things too! I'm sure that if I'm blessed with boys then I'll have my fair share of screams...lol. Cute story!

PS...I got my first teaching job!!! I'm so excited. It's second grade and about a six hour drive from my family. I'm nervous and excited. :)

About Me

Ohhh...what 5 boys can get you into! Join me on my daily journey with my beloved sons, and on being the Godly wife and mother that I am trying to be! I was married at 17 to my first true love when he was 18. I know it sounds crazy, but we had both of our parents blessings. I had my first son at 18, well almost 19. I am 35, and will be married a whopping 18 years in June. I was homeschooled as a teenager in the 1980's, and I homeschool my boys as well. We live on 20 acres, and we allow the boys to roam and just be boys! Life is good and we are HAPPY!
