I Work From Son Up To Son Down

Dec. 29, 2006

The Dreaded Load Of Towels!

How many times can a load of towels be washed before it finally gets put into the dryer? Well I'm about to find out! I think I have washed this same load of towels four times now. *sigh* Its awful! This time I put clorox bleach for colors in it to try to make sure that they smell good. I just hope that I can stay focused long enough to remember to get this load plopped into my dryer.

 Update:

The load actually made it into the dryer! I am just pleased as punch with myself. Okay okay...it's the little things in life that you have to count your blessings in....

So glad it got done!
I really feel to pray for your strength at this time! I have always felt a kinship with you, and I know I need to uphold you with prayer, and so I will.

Glad to know there are more of us! For the last two weeks my laundry stool has been at the church for the Christmas play. I couldn't send the girls to get the clothes out so I had the same thing happen!

Happy New Year! In Him, Eva

Jan. 1, 2007 - laundry and such

LOL...I laugh with you because I can completely understand! Except mine wasn't towels and well...it took several washes to get that funk smell out.

I really shouldn't be allowed to perform household duties...LOL.

Hope your Christmas was great and Happy New Year!

Jan. 1, 2007 - stumbling block

Posted by javamamma
Ahhh, I've done this before! Many times. Glad they finally made it to the dryer - next step, folded and put away. Why does laundry seem to be a stumbling block to us all?

If this ever happens when you're out of clorox bleach for colors, use a little vinegar. It takes the smell away nicely. It would be interesting to hear everyone's maximum rewash times. Mine is 5 for the same load, it doesn't happen often as I have to stay on top of the laundry or else pure chaos reigns.

I think the most I have ever had to wash a load was 3x probably but getting the wash folded and put away is another story. Our laundry room is also the storage room for all of DH's tools and hunting/sporting goods. The laundry room is about 8x5. So When it is time to fold the baskets must go somewhere and it seems the king size bed in my room is the best place to fold. However come bedtime, I often have piles of clothes on the bed some folded, some not which go right back into the baskets.

Yesterday I found a tub in the basement with clothes for 3 of the children that they could be using right now, so I brought it up to sort. Add that to the unfolded laundry already on the bed and you get 1 large rubbermaid tub and 1 32gallon trash bag on the floor next to the bed this morning.

I am ready to reduce our clothing to 5 outfits per person period. And only 1 towel.

About Me

Ohhh...what 5 boys can get you into! Join me on my daily journey with my beloved sons, and on being the Godly wife and mother that I am trying to be! I was married at 17 to my first true love when he was 18. I know it sounds crazy, but we had both of our parents blessings. I had my first son at 18, well almost 19. I am 35, and will be married a whopping 18 years in June. I was homeschooled as a teenager in the 1980's, and I homeschool my boys as well. We live on 20 acres, and we allow the boys to roam and just be boys! Life is good and we are HAPPY!
