• Aug. 24, 2008 - Trying our Neighbors Garden
Our hand at "gardening" seems too funny to speak about! We have a friend that has allowed us to work his farm. Not really knowing exactly what to do, our first appearance was with his children. The children decided to educate our children about what to pick etc... Our lovely girls decided that they would try there hand at it ... with the screams from bugs, insects, dogs and anything else that moved.

the littlest one stays clear of the garden ...her love for the animals showed through so much that the dogs would not let her leave them
an all day affair of the below:

Leads to a Great Evening:

upon returning home this is what we came up with for vegetables, yet the joy and learning experience was unforgettable! We will save the canning episode for the next time ... perhaps. *grin*
This was only one flat (is what we call them) the van was full .. maybe 4-5 of them...sharing was necessary for beginners such as ourselves! We have enjoyed this journey so very much that we will try our hand at the beginning of putting out a garden...the children are looking forward to seeing the whole seeds to sowing and gathering! We are excited about next year. Thank you to my friends who have earnestly inspired me to do and try these things that I have always wanted to do....Thank you to our Father in Heaven who has given me the opportunity and still is opening up my world to all of those things that I have only dreamt about ....

• Aug. 10, 2008 - "Suprise to me!"
Turning 40 was really not a big deal for me! Other people try to think and make it a big deal, by the usual comments. "Oh my 40 years old, I never would have thought?" or "40 are you sure?" or "YOUR not THAT old!?" The last one was always my favorite ...then they would always follow up with, "WOW! How old is your husband, again?" The comments never ended really bothering me ...I just wanted to dodge everyone who knew I had a birthday coming. Not because I was turning 40 ... but for all the comments....Well, let me tell you the 'rest of the story.....
I had to work on the evening before my birthday, my husband and children were going to a wedding. Upon his arrival home, he went to pull into the driveway and noticed something different....so he stopped! Stopped at the beginning of our driveway leaving the vehicle partway on the court/circle. From his explanation, the children were in 'awe, then as daddy was filling them in...they were saying 'COOL, how AWESOME!
I drove up; mind you late verrrry late at night! As I was coming down the end of the road I noticed that my husband didn't pull into the driveway like normal. I was in a stupor, stopped in the middle of the road and called him up...just to ask "Why didn't you pull all the way into the driveway?" He stated in a calm voice, "Wait and you will see!" I was thinking of the worse ...like the whole side of the hill caved in ...or perhaps the house.....you know those type of things.... he he! I still didn't notice a thing...walking up to the door where I almost ran into it! That is when I backed up to look at it ALL! Here is what I saw....I only wish we could have caught the whole house into one picture so that you could enjoy it as much as we did! A friend from my husbands work drove a lonnng way just to do this for me! "How Sweet!" What do you think? Sit back and enjoy the laugh ...envision this along with the knoweledge of the post before this ....the wall and the hole in the yard etc.... I wanting to tear it down right away, my husband only saying, "NO ITS not your birthday yet! LEAVE it up!" Complying with my husband; not happy about it, however we left it up for the time being.
another window the front door: still more: last one: |

• Aug. 10, 2008 - Birthday Party; "Fear Factor Style"
"Have you ever thought you were going to laugh so hard that you would just pee your pants?" This would be the day! If you remember one of my previous posts I was discussing how my girls wanted to invite boys to their birthday party this year. They also wanted it to be FUN! We do not have boys, so our imagination and creativity ran away ... so there you have it! Our middle child had a scavenger hunt party *that got rained out; so we had it inside* now the oldest child had a "Fear Factor Party!" Coming up with the grossest ideas was so much fun! Maybe we went to far...you might want to be the judge of that. :0)
The children were sometimes blind folded to guess what they were feeling, then there were contests on who can eat the fastest only they could not see what they were eating...he he. The items that we found were really gross feeling (gummies) and looked pretty gross like the true insect/rat, bat...
Here is a little slide show for you to see for yourself! Being a parent is the best thing in the whole world, especially when you jump right in knowing God is always there holding your hand!
If you would like to know what we used to be so gross; we will happily fill you in on the juicy gross edibles!
It was truly a special day! At the end my daughters were saying that was the best day ever! Thank you Dad and Mom! With that ending what else could you ask for? Nothing...Just Thanking our Father above for the Privilege to enjoy his children on loan to us...yet again! |

• Aug. 9, 2008 - "The Neverending Wall"
There are only two walls that you can see from outer space: 1.) is the great wall of China; the other is "our" great wall! We have been doing this project with our family members for roughly 3 years now. We are coming to an end! Below you will finally see what we have been up to in our spare time and why! We still have to add some to each sides and then we plan on building a little one at the side of the house; (*hint: where the direct satellite shows is our side of house) yes that is caving in from us tearing the original rock wall down. We used those bricks for the wall in the back since it was the same kind! Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!
We will continue to work on this however we just wanted to share our great endeavors...or rather foolish endeavor! We will see upon completion and the first good Rain Storm we get, if "our" wall continues to stand! *grin*
"ENJOY!"

• Jul. 6, 2008 - Special People for Special Purposes
Our gracious father above seems to always know what is best! When we are needing wonderful influences, role models and encouragers throughout our life's journey .... he places them ever so gently that "we" hardly realize who and what they really are until time has past! We have been so very blessed by meeting some of the most wonderful people here who influence us in Christian family, mothers, fathers, workers, friends and the list could go on! There are far too many negative people whom we can choose not to affiliate ourselves with and instead "receive God's blessings for us!" Prioritizing and maintaining that list is tough enough in our everyday life and journey! We were reminded of how easy that is to misplace today in Sunday school when someone else brought up "the list!" God, Husband/Wife, Family and then all of the other daily activities,etc... Why should we even be tempted to depart from this thinking, yet the inevitable always happens .... "Caught up in the secular motion of "that circle;" not having God first but ourselves first!" It is such an easy slump to get into, yet so easy to refrain from .... We have learned a long time ago: "To always stay in an individual prayer closet, then have a prayer/bible time with your mate alone, and then of course family bible time! With the three things listed above life seems to always seem to go on with God's agape love shining down on us! Okay enough of the bible thumping ... I really just wanted to share a few faces that have been instrumental in our families especially our children's lives! To God above and to them "We Thank YOU ALL!"

• Jun. 23, 2008 - PreK and growing
Everyday is getting better yet in a "blink and a breath" your children are grown. No more blinking nor breathing! Here you will see our # 2 daughter graduate from pre k class. She seemed to have a following of 2 boys who seemed to like her so much. At such a young age....is that possible? We are constantly asking; "is this really happening, already?" We are truly blessed in all avenues; of loving families that support us with there loving ways, with friends that will truly last a lifetime, with the blessing touches that are instilled in our children by teachers.
here is # 2 child with orange flower dress on and one of the young boys that like her on the end in purple. "how cute!" They are praying!
Here is what we wanted to share with you for just this year...
"In a blink of the eye..."

• Jun. 4, 2008 - Hello
Dear Brooke and family,
I hope you like what you see, so far anyway. I haven't finished all the small details yet, but I wanted to give you something to ponder at and see if it's what you want.

• May. 24, 2008 - Backing up in time....
Previously my precious little girls; that are on loan to me from our great God above, decided that they wanted to cut their hair. I have a friend that has recovered from Breast Cancer, with her losing her hair and the children seeing it...they understand the meaning of wearing a wig.
There has been a dear family that are our friends since we lived here; that we have come to consider "our" family! We love them dearly and with our hectic lives we try to get together when we can..which is hard to find the time lately...but their daughter did get her hair cut and sent it to the "Locks of Love." So there you have it......
So in light of their beautiful "long" hair my girls decided that they wanted to get their hair done and be just like "their good friend!" Only two of them were allowed to do it. My littlest one did not get her hair cut for cancer patients she just got her "trimmed."
It is so weird how in one hair cut your children can look so much older.....say increasing up to "4 years in age!"
You judge; here are the before and after pictures....
we sent the hair to "Pantene Beautiful Lengths".

• May. 19, 2008 - Spring Program
Here is the picture "before" leaving the house! They are ready....
Spring Program is such a joy to watch! Our homeschool group has a various group of children of all ages. When the program is nearer it is a time for the children to show off their talents; by showing off those things that they enjoy, we as parents get to see the many talents and growing of each child! This is truly a reflection of parenting and educating all together! It is such a joy and a blessing, that can take your breathe away. The many teachers that teach our children on the one day a week program are inspirations for "us" as mothers to move ahead full steam "with confidence" in teaching our children. To see what they have learned in a big picture; up on stage, is worth everything! "Many thanks to all of the mothers that have taught, will teach and have had any positive influence on my children. You truly give me the motivation and gumption to keep up my job!" Thank you all!
The littlest one is technically not suppose to be in class; however she has a love for socializing and playing with others that she fits right in with the 3 year olds. So here are some pictures of her "showing off" this year. Enjoy!
The little one who is singing her tune....
Middle child is showing her stuff; with the sun, moon and stars ...creation song..
Oldest one who is singing proudly about turning that frown upside down to beat the devil.....
Just singing away normally "toothless is such a beautiful look!"

• May. 12, 2008 - continuation of birthday party
We ended up staying in with all the kiddos in the basement. We had previously made treasure maps on brown bags and looped yarn through a hole punch for the children to carry. Thank goodness; we are blessed to be in a GREAT co-op group. Two of the girls were over to the house helping me out. It was a "blessing" because I was getting overwhelmed and could not think of anything to do for prizes. The two girls stepped in and took charge of all of the little ones! 'Whew! They just reassured me that the children had a fun time even though it rained buckets the whole evening!
The birthday girl had NO complaints, she was so excited that all of her friends came over! Here she is enjoying it all:

We have been so blessed with the three little ones; on loan to us from our gracious father above, that we love to enjoy each and every minute! The time seems to slip past so quickly .... truly like the cliche' ..."in the blink of an eye!"
make sure that you are letting your children know just how much you "love them!"
