VBS week

This past week was V.B.S.--that would be vacation Bible school for those who might not know. Matt was the only one of the kiddies to go. It only makes sense due to Cel being a highschooler--eek!--and Sean is too little to get anything out of it. But Matt had a blast. Or so he says. ;)

I stayed with him the entire week to follow him and his class around. It was pretty good. Matt and his friend wanted to go so her mom and I went along for the ride.

We had never gone to the church before but every one seemed to be nice. Then again, it wasn't like a typical church morning where people say hello and go on about their merry ole way. We were there for the entire week. Everyone did make a point to come and say hello but they also asked questions outside of the "where are you from" kind of things. Though they did ask the obligatory questions as well. :) That would be "do you have a home church?" "do you have any other children?" Yadayadayada. We all know the drill. But these people seemed to go beyond that. So we will see. It's worth pursuing one Sunday.

Today was out of the question because my husband is home and we have been doing family stuff to make up for the four weeks he was out. Family comes first and I won't apologize for that.

In VBS, Matt made clay pots, a tiny maracca, photo frame with buttons, snow globe made from a baby food jar, and a sand art plaque. There were a ton of songs--as is the case with VBS!--and the kids raised the money for their goal. They sponsored Ninos de Mexico, which is an orphanage for kids zero to adult. The VBS was aiming at buying a new computer for the school. And when the kids saw they made their goal, they were so excited!

I had a great week, even if it was a busy one. It was worth it and Matt LOVED it. I'll see what the church has to offer on a regular basis. If their service is as good as the attitude of the people, then it would definitely be worth going.
