We went for our daily 2 mile walk along the river and guess what? There was a doe eating her dinner three feet from where we stood! We went on our merry little way and Matt noticed there was another deer walking about three feet behind us. We stopped and turned. Sure enough, there was a foal walking along the path! The baby walked with us for a few feet before being scared into the trees, but it was cool!
Do you think I had my camera? No! I took a picture with my cell phone of the mommy deer eating. The thing took so long sending to my email, that I wasn't able to take one of the baby. Errr! The kids thought it was cool and I'm happy for that! =)
It was really neat to walk with the thing. It wasn't itty bitty, but it had plenty to grow. I'd say it was about a year old. ~shrug~ what do I know?
Enjoy! |

We just arrived home after two weeks of being on the road. Well, kinda!
The kids and I drove up to Iowa to pick up my husband two weeks ago Tuesday. We drove to Michigan to visit some old friends and then arrived in Jersey Thursday evening. Each night was spent in a hotel room, we may love driving on the road, but not sleeping in the car in the process. ;)
Friday we spent doing laundry, visiting my dad at his work--that was fun for the kids! He was shocked to see me walking towards him in the warehouse. We then visited with my mom in the afternoon before heading to my in-laws house for dinner.
Saturday was my mom's graduation party. She received her associates in business management in May and she wanted a HUGE party. All my siblings and their families were there for her. There were 80 people at her party. Goodness! But everyone had fun and there was plenty of food. All the kids enjoyed being with their cousins again. My kids and my sisters kids are all close together, age wise and friendship. =)
Later that night, (sounds like a suspense story) my sister, bro-in-law, brother, and friend followed my husband and I to my in-laws home for some friendly Texas Hold 'em. (No money, just chips.) My mommy-in-law had a blast with us there. She said it was nice to play and talk with my family. (I'm VERY blessed that my family and Shannon's family get along good without faking it.)
Sunday we split it between the two houses as it was Father's day. It's a big whopping mile from door to door, so it wasn't bad for us. Especially since we had to bring Celia her bag--she spent the night at my parents house to spend more time with her friend who lives across the street from them. Sunday night, my husband took my brother, Steve, and me to Atlantic City. Mike and Stever are from Texas and had never gone before so "we" took them for a few hours. We played, had dinner, talked and left. **Though it might look like we are a gambling group, we are not. It's the one game we can all play and lose and not care while we talk with eachother.**
Monday we spent getting ready for our return journey home. Tuesday we met Shannon's uncle for lunch before leaving town. We spent the night in Ohio and then drove to Iowa on Wednesday. We stopped at Ulyssess S. Grant's house and an observation tower near his house. That is something you do not want to do after being in the car for nine hours--climbing 60 feet to get to the top of a 75 foot tall tower. Ugh! But it was beautiful!
Thursday morning I took Shannon to his truck. I then took the kids to the movie site of Field of Dreams before lunch. It's a whopping 3 miles from Shannon's terminal so its no biggie! After lunch I took the kids to the hotel's pool. We swam for a few hours before Shannon called to let me know he would be in town for dinner. The kids thought it was neat that he went to work and then came back for dinner. Can you tell he hasn't come home for dinner after working all day in a while? Gotta love truck driving! Right. I'll be happy when he can get a more local driving job.
Back to my vacation...We left Friday morning about 8-ish to head home. We arrived home about 5. And I had to do what one would expect to do after being gone for so long...food shopping! Whoo hoo! :{
But we had a great time and that is all that counts! |

We had a great weekend. My husband came home on Saturday morning...and scared me, I might add! He called me from outside but had me believe he was just starting to drive for the day. (I asked him if he was just getting up, he said "you can say that.") I knew he was on his way home, but he was suppose to be about 5 hours from home. That was where he was when we hung up the previous night. Anywho, I was still in bed, reading, so I figured I had more time. WRONG! About five minutes after we hung up--he said he had to go 'cause he need both his hands--he was in the doorway of our bedroom, laughing.
We went to Evansville, which is about 45 minutes away, to go some shopping. While we were there we saw X-Men III. The kids were all thrilled! AND it was stadium seating. We haven't been in a theater with stadium seating since before we moved here. Very nice! :-)
On Sunday, we went food shopping--yes, I know how much fun this is--and then Shannon took me to the movies. (Celia stayed with the boys and they watched some DVD's.) We saw Da Vinci Code. We had read the book, so it was interesting to see how Hollywood interpretted it to a movie. It was pretty good for an action-adventure. (Which is exactly how we read and watched them!) There is no doubt in my mind about Jesus being married and all the other garbage the book/movie claims. And I would advise not to watch the movie if you are the kind to be easily swayed. It is very convincing, but I believe the Book that God wrote, not the one that a mere human wrote. ;-)
Back to my weekend...Monday was very relaxing and my husband did ALL the cooking! That is always a good thing! lol
Monday night he went back to work, which was sad, but we are going on vacation in a VERY short time. Our vacation is another story, though! It's going back east to our parents for a party my mother is having in honor of her business degree she earned this May. ALL my siblings will be there, families in tow, and we are all SO looking forward to it! LOL But, like I said, that is another story!

What a great weekend we had!
My husband came home on Wednesday and left this afternoon. We had a fantastic time, too. Our youngest will be turning 4 next week--ahh!--but since my husband won't be able to do a quick turn around, we celebrated ALL weekend. Much to Sean's enjoyment! LOL
Saturday we went out to dinner and the attendents sang the little guy their version of "Happy Birthday." He was SO thrilled! Then we rented March of the Penguins when we got home. On Sunday, we bought him an ice cream cake and he opened his gift from us. I thought for sure he would expect something exciting today. lol
Can you imagine the little guys face next week when its his actual birthday? I try to do something special for them on the actual day and I am putting balloons around the house with a birthday banner for him. Sean will be happy....again! =)

I have started watching a set of twins during the day. They are five, so there isn't any major demands made on me. (Diapers, formula, etc..) The two boys play with them every day, all day. I am waiting for them to all just say "we've had enough." lol But I guess they keep enough variety when they do play, that its always fun. =) My teen doesn't play with them, but I have caught her playing ball outside with them. (She isn't big with little kids, but maybe these two are different?) Who knows!
I wasn't sure how schooling and babysitting would merge, but they have merged very well. I work with my kids in the morning, and if the girls are here, they stay in the living room until my kids finish. I actually like it better when they are here during "school hours" because Sean has someone to play with and isn't pulling me away in the middle of teaching concepts. I do have preschool activities for Sean, so its not that he doesn't get any attention. I think he likes it because the girls only play with him. ;)
The girls mom asked if she could bring a kindegarten book for the twins. I told her what ever she wanted to do, but I would not force them to sit and do work. I want them to LIKE coming here, not hate it! They have told me that their old sitter was mean to them. I don't want to be a mean sitter. I wanna be NICE! =)

Its official! I have left my job so I can be home...where I belong! =)
My husband and I had a discussion regarding schooling and my work and came to the decision that it was time to be home again. I am sooo thankful!
Now I can go back to what I love doing. Homeschooling 100% of the time without stopping to go to work. (I know there are some who have no choice in this matter, but the opportunity came and I snatched it!) =D
Matt drew a big smile face on the calendar on the last day of my work. It was the Wednesday before Easter. What a great way to celebrate Resurrection Sunday! FREE!
I had to share my excitement about this. =)
Enjoy your day! |

I haven't written in a very long time! Sheesh!
I decided to go back to school for my degree. It's all online, so I do my work along side my kids. They think its funny! Mommy doing school work, too. lol
I hope everyone is safe and having a great weekend!

Okay, here is some background info before I have my little laugh. When we moved away from the east coast, my parental units like to think we have more snow and colder weather than they do. Everytime it snows here, they are on the phone, insisting that we have feet of snow and reminding me that just had to move to Indiana. Do I need to say that they are very unhappy with us living so far away from them? They are!
SO, this weekend, when it snowed for both days, they were yet again on the phone, asking me how much we had. My answer was "nothing." It came down like crazy, but it melted before it touched the ground. My parents were not thrilled with this news, as they got a good foot of snow!
I'm bad, I know. But I enjoyed putting it back at them for a change.
|
|
We had a nice leisure day today. We played some games and watched the snow fall from the sky. There was nothing on the ground, as it should be! But it was so pretty to watch it come down!
And to make the day even better, my husband decided to cook dinner!
Now we are settling down to watch an action-adventure on television.
~Enjoy!~ |

We had a great day yesterday. Okay, after we cleaned the entire house, we had a great day! lol
Matt had Sean play follow the leader around the house a few times. Then they did an impromtu skit. I hope I spelt that right! But they did a skit about Star Wars meeting Wallace and Gromit. It was too funny!
Celia was on the computer with her friend and they were doing something online. I saw names and strange story lines. So I ddn't ask too many questions, I was just thankful the spelling was good. =D
Then my husband calls from the road, and informs me of his new webcam. So I get that on the computer, and then the kids enjoy the fact that they can now see Daddy! Sean sat next to Celia and watched the video of him driving down the road, singing and whistling. About two-ish, they see that he is down the highway, on his way home.
After dinner, we all sat in front of the playstation 2, and we played Sims Urbs. The kids all laughed, as did we, as we tried to figure out what we were suppose to do.
It was a very good day and the kids had a blast. Even though I had Julius Ceasar by Shakespeare playing on the stereo. It was on tape at the library and Celia just finished a report on Ceasar, so I picked it up. Even Matt liked listening to parts of it!

I am in need of a Kentucky Fried Chicken! lol I have had THE biggest craving for some of their chicken, I am about loony! (alright, I know I am on the nutsy side, but you know what I mean)
Enjoy your day! |

We have had a very sick kitten the past week, so all our time has been spent dealing with the critter. She is five months old and weighs 2.4 pounds, as of Monday night. The doctor gave me all kinds of meds for me to give her. Umm, has anyone given pills to an itty bitty kitten with extremely sharp claws? =D I don't advise it...nope!
The good news is, she has been doing better. She has started eating her food again and her hair looks a lot better. (Did I mention she was losing some of it?) She is doing much, much better!
The kids are happy, we weren't sure WHAT she had, so we were prepared for anything, good or bad. Since they weren't willing to stay at home, they all got to go to the vet with me. My son was very happy when I told him she didn't have cat lukemia. The look of relief on his face! If I only had a camera. lol
For those who want to know the gorry details: She had worms in her intestines and he also treated her for arendia (sp?) which he didn't test her for, but since she had similar sympthoms, he gave me the meds for it. He said we should see a difference in a week or so.
Thanking God! =D |

What a great week we had!
Last Saturday, the kids and I drove to Iowa to pick up my husband. (Truck driver, has to leave his truck @ the terminal, yada yada yada..) We stayed at a hotel that night, as he wouldn't be in until the wee hours of the night. Quite frankly, who wants to drive 8 hours and then turn around and put in another 14 before stopping? Not I! The kids had a blast playing and watching tv while I was zonked on the bed. LOL My husband got in a bit earlier than anticipated--ten instead of three! But it was midnight by the time he got to the hotel thanks to paperwork. (He admitted to being too lazy during the week to do it 'cause he knew he would be off for the week.)
Sunday morning, we left for our journey to the South! That would be Texas. We arrived at my brothers house about midnight, stayed up to get rid of the driving feeling and then we all went to sleep.
We didn't do much on Monday, as we were trying to recoup from the driving, but we did see my sister and her kids later on. The rest of the week the kids got to be with their cousins while I visited with my sister and my brother. We took my husband out to eat at Poncho's--he never heard of it so we HAD to go! It was nice, my brother in law met us there, so we got to spend some time with him. The night before we left, we had dinner at my sisters. Then we played Texas Hold 'em while the kids all played. We didn't leave there until midnight or so. Which leads to us sleeping late on Friday and leaving Bedford at eleven. Not that we were on a schedule or anything. We had decided to take our time and if we had to stop, we would. Of course, we didn't. My husband drove the entire way, bless his heart, in all kinds of weather! We had sunny skies when we left, drove past several wild fires-not fun!, past a few upside down cars, had rain, sleet, and snow--was a nervous wreck at that point!, and then we hit a patch of ice in Iowa, about 5 miles from our exit. Oh! And when we were at the exit, we drove through some heavy fog. At that point, I was done for. All I wanted was to be off the road. My husband would hold my hand every now and then to calm me down. Please don't think I was screaming or panicing, I just refused to look out the front window. So I played with my camera or looked up at the sky--thanking God for the sunroof--or playing tetris on my cell phone. I do not mind driving in snow, but when the road is covered in it, forget it. I want off. And those rigs driving past at a zillion miles per hour, make me more nervous. There were two that my husband even complained about. One of which ended up jack knifed down the interstate. <--its sad, I know. I worry about my husband every time he mentions he is in snow. (A shiver goes down my spine!)
We got to the hotel at 2:30 in the morning and slept til about 8. Well, I slept til 8, the kids were about 9:30 and my husband was up at 10. Details, I know! LOL But my drive back to Indiana was clear. (Thank God!) I saw some flakes come down, but it wasn't going anywhere or doing anything. We got home last night about 8:30 and I ordered pizza while we unloaded the car. We had a great trip and I can't wait to get my pictures developed. Well, I get to do it from the memory card, just waiting for the energy to go up the street. LOL
It was a wonderful ride and a great time with my siblings and their families. I'm glad we went, but boy am I glad to be home! |
|
I have joined Barnes and Nobles University's online reading group. 'Tis free and fun...to me! =) We are currently reading Charles Dickens Great Expecations. The group started today and there seems to bea good amount of people in it. They are from across the US, parts of Canada, and England. So far, anyways. =)
Anyways, I love Charles Dickens and wanted to share with others. |

The house is soooo quiet. All my little kiddies have spent last nght at my friends house as well as tonight. I had inventory at work last night and today, so she took them so I wouldn't have to worry about them. =) But boy! do I miss them! The little turkeys.
The house is perfectly clean and tidy, but without my kids home, what is the point? Well, I was prepared for some fellow employees to sleep over in case the hours ran late. (They live about an hour from work where I live a mile.) But no one slept over which left the house clean. =D
But I soo miss my kids! I wouldn't go get them tonight because I know they would be mad at me for getting them earlier then told. I AM going over in the morning, though, so my time away is coming to a close. heehee Granted, I will be spending the day visiting, but at least I can see the darling children.
In the mean time, I have the tv on for noise. LOL |
|
We had a very lazy day today. But we all ejoyed it. =D
We made chocolate cookies, made a stewie thing in the crockpot, went to home depot so I can repair a cart at work, played some games, and are now watching Polar Express. Well, when I get off here we will be! ~wink wink~
We are getting ready for our little vacation in a few days. We plan to go visit some of my siblings in Texas. I can't wait! lol I have been itching for a road trip for a few months now, so this should cool my jets some. =) My husband is coming with us this time around, which makes it cool for the kids. He hasn't been to Texas for a visit in three years. The kids and I have gone down a few times, but not him. My sisters kids are excited about seeing their cousins again. My brother is excited about us going down for a visit. He gets a kick out of my "normal" kids compared to my sisters. We both homeschool, so I am not entirely sure what makes mine seem more normal to him. And I always ask him "what IS normal?" Which usually doesn't get an answer. Oh well.
Well, the kids are begging for some popcorn so the movie can go on.
Enjoy your weekend!

Let's see...what did we do this week? A lot! lol
We have learned about the Roman Empire and Julius Ceasar. Well, Celia learmed and explained it all to me in her notebook. :)
Matt is learning all about France during the 1700's. He also did a few different experiments relating to air. He also did one that made a rain cloud with a kettle. He thought that was waaay cool. <--thats what he told me, anyways.
As for the little guy, he was busy making up knock knock jokes and laughing. We laughed because he was really cracking himself up. LOL The mind of a toddler, what a blessing.
Then we did some major food shopping/stocking up. The kids hate going food shopping, but oh well! We gots to eat! ~shrug~ oh well!
After dinner, we did some timing of the cats. The goofy critters were chasing eachother around the house and we tried to figure out how fast they were going. It wasn't miles per hour, more like laps per minutes. lol
It was a great day but boy! am I tired! LOL
(The boy is in his room playing with his legos, oblivious to the fact that its eleven!) Have I said its way past bedtime? =)
Good Night! |

My son is a super heros fan. This year for Christmas we bought him a huge collection of comic books from the 80's and 90's. Some of the heros in them he has never heard about before. He began to research them on line and through what he could find at the library. (Our library is the size of a peanut compared to the one we moved from.) He has also begun to determine which ones are more valuable or will have the greatest value in a few years. He has also researched what makes an item antique and/or valuable. I'm amazed by the amount of passion he has put into this. I'm glad he has. He has realized the why of taking care of things. (So they can last longer! LOL) He has always taken care of his stuff. I have never had a problem with him treating his and others property with respect. But this research of his has brought out a new spark in him and he has shared it with the entire family. Over and over again. I wouldn't be surprised if the three year old starts chanting about it. lol
Did I mention he is eight? Who would have known that these books would have brought out this side of him. =) |
|
I hope everyone is having a GREAT first day of the new year.
We watched the pretty ball drop in Times Square. It was such a pretty crystal ball with all the pretty colors. Matt was too busy reading out loud all the "best of"s at the bottom of the screen, so I don't really know what the announcers were talking about. LOL
We watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and then the kids played some games while we were waiting for midnight. Relatives called every now and then to chat and send their greetings of the new year. The entire time, I am thinking, "can I go to bed yet?" lol
My brothers called me about 2 in the morning. One is in Jersey and the other is in Texas. I'm not quite sure if they had anything important to say, as I was already tucked in bed and half-awake on the phone. =D
On a happy note, I hope you all enjoy the weekend and have a safe and prosperous new year! |
|
Yes, I know its after Christmas, but I can still say Have a Happy New Year!
We have been busy, busy, busy. Even though we spent the holidays at home, we had a lot to do in regards to packing and shipping packages around the US. Of course, I had the kids do the wrapping and I got to put the boxes together. Yes, I can hear how jealous you are! LOL
Shannon was able to get home for Christmas, he even sneaked home earlier in the week and gave me a heart attack! I was sleeping and I woke up to him standing over me, watching me. Not what you want at midnight! But it was a nice surprse.
We had a great holiday being together. We played some card games together and made cookies. Not to mention the kids thought it was great to get a Playstation 2 for Chirstmas! |

Being the good child that I am, I had no choice but to tell them, "you insisted on staying in Jersey."
