Apr. 3, 2006 - The End of the Day

I am really glad today is almost over.  It wasn't a bad day.  It just didn't go as I planned it.  That always makes me tired.  I supposed that is the case when I plan my day versus seeking the Father.  God is Sovereign.  I may plan my day but He's still in charge.

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.  Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin. (James 4:13-17)

I am soooo guilty of trying to plan my days without seeking the Lord's guidance.  Actually, that's not really true.  I seek His will at the beginning of my day.  But for some reason I am under the impression that He's just going to speak in an audible voice what my To Do list should say.  LOL!!!  That's actually kind of funny when I think of how ridiculous it is.

I wander. . .if we seek His will for our day and the day doesn't go as expected, does that mean He wasn't involved in guiding the day?  Something to ponder. . .but not tonight.  Brain is tired!!!

My dh is out of town and will be arriving back in Dallas at 11:30 pm.  Poor guy.  He flew to Seattle, WA and back in 24 hours.  He's going to be tired.  The worst part is that there is a mess in my house.  This is our Spring Break from school.  So, of course, spring cleaning and organizing has begun.  The house is in spambles waiting for me to put it back together again.  We had a garage sale this weekend so we didn't get a good start to the week in the first place.  I spent my day running all over Dallas trying to find bins, boxes, and shelves to organize.  I am attempting to bring some kind of order to the chaos of toys in my boy's room.  I only have one boy that plays with most of the toys in there right now but he sure is messy.  I bought a box to go under the bed.  Mostly to keep him from pushing all his toys under the bed when I ask him to pick up.  Apparently he inherited that from his mother.  I did the same thing when I was a little girl.  Hopefully that means he will grow into a neat and order freak.  LOL!!!!

Ok, I am signing off at 8:50 pm.  It's spring break.  The kids are up late (hey, it's only 7:40 according to their body clock.)  I let them watch The Incredibles tonight.  I love that movie.  In fact, I love all of Pixars movies.  I think I am ready to hit the sack. . .but I have  to fold.  I think I will watch Pride and Predujice tonight (since I still have not time to read it.  <>)

Apr. 6, 2006 - God in our day..

Posted by MyLittleWomen

It is easy to get discombulated when our day does not go as planned. I do often enough. But even though, after praying for God's guidance in the day, it doesn't go well or as planned...He is still involved. Perhaps, what we thought ought to happen really wasn't what we needed or we needed a lesson. I'm not sure about all this...just my thoughts. Of course, I usually don't learn the lesson until many days later( or years, LOL).
How did you enjoy Pride and Predjudice? I love the A&E version and I recently watched the new one..liked it, but not as much. The book is awesome...I've read it(and other Jane Austen books)several times. I encourage you to try to read it...I believe you will find it to be as pleasurable(if not more so) as the movies.
Hoping your day is good today!

Blessings,
Sommer
