She did it!!!!  My oldest dd did something for school and it wasn't even assigned to her.  She is really beginning to LOVE reading.  While reading can be enjoyed for "school" or for leisure, she was reading for school and didn't even know it.  She was reading a chapter book that I checked out to read for our history unit next week.  And it wasn't so much that she was reading.  The greatest part of all this. . .she volunteered to narrate to me!!!!!  She's never done that. 

Maybe I do need to look into a more independent approach to school with her and give her some freedom to choose.  Is that what the delight-directed learning is about?  I don't know much about it. 

Yea!!!!  That made my day.  Now I can go take my nap in peace.
