Changes...

Well, the old computer died.  May she rest in peace.  Well, actually, we could probably say we committed the awful sin of Euthenasia, since she was in the process of dying when we replaced her, and so harshly ripped out her RAM for the purpose of organ donation...

Anyway, we went to The Computer Market which is a store that sells ex-government computers.  For $450 we managed to get a 2.8ghz Pentium with a dvd drive and Windows XP, which I really needed since I'm just slightly computer dependent and my old computer was waaaay obsolete.  Then he through in the graphics card I had wanted for free, and added in the RAM from our old computer, so it has 1.5 gb, not 512 mb.  I don't see the point in updating your computer to go backwards.  They also fixed a software problem on Ken's computer for free, since we were there.

Pretty good service, I thought!  It turns out the dvd-drive door sticks a bit, but that should be under warranty so we'll take that back on Monday when it's Ken's day off.

SO I'm now having to get used to a new computer.  I think it's like going to another woman's kitchen and trying to cook dinner.  It just doesn't feel like home.  I'm sure I'll get used to it.  I mean, I like being able to do some things that I just couldn't do before... I had some programs on dvd that I had to run on Ken's computer, and I hate laptops, so that doesn't go down too well.  Of course, I'm not receiving my emails at the moment because there's a problem there.  It's weird, we have two email addresses from the same ISP on the same computer, with the same settings.  We tried sending an email from each of them to the other.  So email 1 sends to email 2 no problems, but email 2 sends an email to email 1 and it just never arrives.

Yet their settings are done exactly the same!  And both of them are working to some capacity, since one is able to send, and the other is able to receive!

I know I'm computer dependent, and slightly computer literate, but I will never, never understand them!!!
