After witnessing and vicariously experiencing the blog lives of my wife (Sharra) and daughter (Shaiya), I have decided to take the bold step of creating a blog for myself. The reason that this is seemingly bold is that, from my experience, the active homeschool population is predominantly female (and this has carried over into this cyber world as well). While this is not a problem, it creates extra pressure on us few men to represent well.
The purpose of this blog is to focus on leading our families and to encourage fathers to actively step into the God-given role that we have been created to fill. There is a mindset that raising children and homeschooling should be the responsibility of the mother, but this reality is not the model given to us in God’s Word.
With the Lord’s help, I will be able to upload encouraging posts and demonstrate how fathers can actively get involved in the upbringing of their children in the way of the Lord.
Raising our children in the way of the Lord is not just something that we should do, it is imperitive. There is no higher calling for a parent than to raise their children to love the Lord with all of their mind, soul, and strength.
