Hi! I am glad you stopped by!
These are the musings and meanderings
of a Christian, homeschooling Mom.
Writing to have a little fun and fellowship
sharing our life and times with friends and family.
Ever find yourself blogging just because it is on your "to do" list? Until today, I had not but I am just full of uninspiration! Not that there isn't anything going on on to blog about; not that I am not brimming with fabulous ideas with which I could, ever so eloquently, share. Perhaps it is more that my life, in general, is ordinary.
Ordinary is a good thing. There is joy and peace and contentment in the status quo of ordinary. Ordinary days are those you can count your blessings and give thanks. Our family is healthy, we have food and clothing and a roof over our heads. The birds are singing, the sun is shining and all is well in our little realm. Our life is much the same today as it has been for some time. I got up and made lunch for my beloved and we had time for a cup of coffee together before our eldest woke up. A little prayer for Rowan's headache and off he went to work. I prepared breakfast and cleaned the kitchen like I do every morning. (ok, I threw donuts on a plate, assuaged my guilt by adding a yogurt smoothie before I handed it to her and I hid the dirty dishes in the dishwasher)
Getting dressed was different today though! I actually went to a STORE, not a thrift shop, an actual store, and bought 3 skirts and some tops on sale and they fit and they look nice and they are mine! So, that was new. Ok, so no one "gets" that I am in love with this gorgeous cotton camoflage print skirt. I love it !
Ordinary. There is laundry on the line again today, I put it out yesterday but late and it didn't dry so I figured if I leave it, it will dry today. Plus, it drives the neighbors crazy and I don't hate that. (insert chorus here of "oh I'm a red-neck woman") The little one is still asleep, a combination of allergies and growth spurt I think and I seem to have lots of lovely quiet computer time thins morning as my Rowan is playing with legos! We have had legos in the house for years. For years, all my darling children could do with them was stck them, knock it over and watch me pick them up so I threw them in the attic. My darling husband, who was poking about in the attic searching for a document, at her request brought a huge box of them down. Darned if she isn't actually building stuff! Like bi-leveled houses and such! As long as they pick them up and I NEVER again step on one on my way downstairs in the dark I suppose I can handle it. OOhhh and I think I could easily call it school under the heading of engineering class, drafting, architecture, fine arts, something educational for sure!
There is actually nothing on my to do list today and it is going to be 70 degress for the 1st time this year! Which, naturally, means the children will be clamoring for me to put up the pool. I will probably do it, just to get it over with and then spend the next week reminding them that it is too dang cold to get into until the water warms up a bit! Then they will spend until July playing in the pool and then turning blue and getting in the hot tub! Thanks Lord for this day and for all the blessings that come with ordinary.

About Me
I am a Mom of 2 dear daughters, ages 9 and 5. This is our 4th year home schooling and we are an eclectic Christian Classical family. I have an amazing husband and we have been married 14 years. <<<<<<<<<< I am in awe, an 85 year old woman who has a 9 year old and a 5 year old. How did you have a baby at 80? You could make lots of money....and I see you married when you were 71? Why did you wait so long, let me guess—he was worth the wait. I hope you're laughing as much as I am right now. I do love your blog, thanks for visiting mine. I see we're both WTM users, we'll have to visit each frequently. I'm thinking of putting a WTM message board at Mamma1420. That might be fun. Your post was not ordinary, I really enjoyed it. Have a good day, go get your laundry. (I ain't no high class broad, I'm just a product of my raising and I say hey ya'll and hee haw...) thanks for putting that song into my head! Jessica
First of all you need to come back over to my place and check out the new forum I created for us! Second, I don't see my name on your friend list...OR do you not want to be my friend? : (
