Who Wants To Be a Millionare?

We just watched the movie High Society with Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Celeste Holm and Louis Armstrong. Besides it being a musical version of The Philedalphia Story, it was pretty funny. A lot of one liners. Our favorite part is probably when Sinatra uses the intercom to declare himself as the "Voice of doom" and that "Your days are numbahhed!" We laughed really hard!
This is one of our favorite songs from the movie.

enjoy!

my deliverer is comin', my deliverer is standing by

Well folks.  It is indeed the Christmas season.  And ya'll know the reason for the season, don't ya'll?

This last service, mum and I went to a WIC Christmas party (we don't usually) but a friend of mine who was in the play was going, and she isn't a believer.  While we were there, she and I were talking about the Christmas season, but since we had other activities to do, I was not able to say all the things about Christ that I wanted to.  She has acknowledged that I take Jesus' birth 'very seriously' but I don't think that she fully understands why.  She is coming to our house for Christmas Eve dinner, the Christmas Eve Service, and I'm preparing this huge sermon to giver her (not a real one obviously) but I'd appreciate prayers for her and my family as we try to witness to her.

WELL, tomorrow is mine and Trey's teenie-bopper par-tay ;)  We are having thirty-five teens coming over! It is going to be SO FUN... I'll post pics of that and after Christmas once it's all over :)

My favorite little Christmas book!

I love thrift shoppes!
Seriously, I haunt them!

And a thrift shoppe is where I found this darling little specimen!

I thought it looked just cute at first, but then...

See? How cute is that?

...and that!

Isn't he cute? Look, joyfully bringing gifts to his true love, with his little page offering a towel too! ah!

The Lords A-Leaping are a hoot.

"Go home, go home, go home with Bonny Jean..." (Brigadoon)

Aw,I love the illustrations! So vintag-y and ever so festive, even if the guy looks like a girl at times...but hey, its Disney...

Hope you all have a good week! I will try to post more later, but I have been so busy lately:0

Something to examine

Here is something thought provoking.

1.Here is an article by John Piper supporting my beliefs: http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/Seminars/1722_Why_We_Believe_the_Bible_Part_1/ . How can we prove the the Bible is completely without error. It goes something like this- "Holy Scripture, being God’s own Word, written by men prepared and superintended by His Spirit, is of infallible divine authority in all matters upon which it touches: it is to be believed, as God’s instruction, in all that it affirms, obeyed, as God’s command, in all that it requires; embraced, as God’s pledge, in all that it promises." Unlike the Muslim Koran, which cannot be translated into anything else but Arabic because then it looses it's authority according to the Muslims, the Bible can be translated infinitely. This would disprove those that believe that you must read only the King James or some other translation because guess what? The New Testament was translated into Greek from Aramaic.

2. What is truth? Truth is just the opposite of a lie is it not? A lie is a twist of something that is part truth and part lie or something that is not true correct? I will say this; there are somethings in the Bible that are grey areas. I do know that there are "extremist radical" Christians, Conservative Christians, Midways, and Cold Christians. My point? There will be confrontations with believers that view things differently than you do. When you do come into contact with them you have two options

(a)  you can say "ok I know that you see this differently than I do and there is nothing that I can do to change your mind"

(b) you can just chew them out.

We make great missionaries and why? Because we can come along side the lost and say "I've been there! I know what you are going through!"  We live in a sinful world. I believe that if something makes a Brother or Sister in Christ fall and we know it, we should not present that thing before them (1 Corinthians 8:13). We all have our own opinions.

Before I go, if anyone posts something that outright attacks me, I will not respond. If you want to debate it, that's fine. This is my last post for a while as school starts tomorrow.

 God bless.

the silence isn't so bad 'till i look at my hands and feel sad cuz the spaces between my fingers are right where your's fit perfectly

This last Thanksgiving was really different and hard.  I tried to be thankful, and I believe with God's help, I was.  But since Thanksgiving has passed, I still remember it and try to be thankful.  It was really hard to though.  I found out that my grandmother is dying of Picks Disease that can't be slowed down.  I had to say goodbye to all my new friends from P&P last week.  We just found out that all of our Christmas ornaments that we have been gathering and collecting through the years got lost in the move to our new house.

Through these times that I've been sad, it makes it easier for me to point out the things I am thankful for most:

I am thankful for all of my friends, and the new ones I've made since P&P.  I know that they will be with me to the very end and that they are willing to do anything for me.  All of my dear friends are a second family to me.

I am thankful that Grammy is still alive and that I have time to pray for her salvation, and maybe see her before she passes.

I am thankful that we are still able to celebrate Christmas without all of our ornaments.  They aren't people, they are just earthly things and they would have gone sooner or later.  Our focus of this holiday season should be on Christ, and we don't need decorations to celebrate our Saviour's birth.

A time for Thanksgiving

Greetings my HSB bloggers, I have resumed blogging till Monday when we commence school again. School is doing very well. The weather has taken on a gloomy and rainy appearance lately. Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving? In today's society, most would say it's a time to give thanks and they are right to a degree. They have taken the God part of the holiday. Though organizations like the ACLU would deny it, it was the Pilgrims that wanted to give thanks to God for their new home and for their new camaraderie with the indians. What are you thankful for and why? We need to be recollecting our thankfulness and put aside our greedy and selfish attitudes. To God be the glory!! God bless, MCH

all of my memories keep you here, inside of my heart

Please accept my apologies for not answering any comments... I have been quite busy, but I feel responsible enough to update my blog to let ya'll know how the Pride and Prejudice musical was going... which it was going GREAT... I enjoyed every moment of it. :)  BUT... Now it is all over and I am so sad.

I can't remember if it was the first week... hmm I think it was the first week of our performances that David, (the guy who played Mr. Collins, who is incredibly sweet) got all of the girls of the cast chocolate!!!  A huge bag of delicious truffles... yummy ;)  It was hilarious, cuz after the end of the performance that he gave them, some of the other guys got pretty upset and informed David that "he has competition now" or that "there's a storm coming". LOL All of us girls were fine with it... "just keep bringing the chocolate." heehee, it was funny.  And this week, Will and Tim (guys who were a part of the ensemble) gave all of us bouquets of flowers!  And then, Amanda (the gal who plays Caroline Bingley, who is a total sweetheart) gave us all starbursts (lol, and that had nothing to do with the guys giving us stuff... sorry, I got a little off-track).  And then all of us gals got a chocolate truffle from John and Stephen!  (needless to say, we were well fed during these plays :)

Here is a pic of all the guys in our cast (it's a little fuzzy, so I think we'll have to get a new one at the cast party):

Ah, and I just happened to be placed in the most fun dressing room ever... all of the Wickham's girls (of which I am one) except Rachel was in our dressing room.  We also had Katie (Kitty), Bekah (Lizzy), and Maggie (Jane) in the room.  We also had Mrs. Holaday (Mrs. Phillips) and Miss Anne (Lady Catherine de Bourgh).

Oookay... let me explain. :)  Excluding Miss Anne for a moment, here are all of us Wickham/Brighton girls, including Rachel.  These were are Brighton bathing outfits when we sing "If We Could Only Go to Brighton".  heehee, and then we posed with Lady Catherine.

LOL From left to right and back to front: Rachel, me, Kylene, Julie, (then front) Joy, and Hannah.

OH... and I have a HILARIOUS story to tell ya'll... Okay, my little brother Randy has started to like Maggie... he asked her for her contact info so they could "stay in touch", which she got a kick out of.  And then, John has grown quite fond of Bekah...

Isn't this picture of Maggie and Randy absolutely adorable? ;)

And here's one of Bekah and John...

teehee... THESE ARE ALL POSED GUYS... lol  The one in the uper left is one of John and Julie... they are dance partners in the first act.

LOL and Percy was starting to feel left out....

Us Brighton girls reading the program... Julie's mom took this "head shot" of us.... LOL pretty neat, huh?

Kylene, Julie, Hannah, me, and Joy in our snob poses.  heehee... we had SO MUCH FUN...

Maggie (Jane) and Bekah (Lizzy).  Aren't they beautiful?

Me and Julie! My buddy!

Us Wickham girls singing back-up for Scott (Wickham)

A fuzzy picture of the whole original cast of the musical of Pride & Prejudice!

Katie (Kitty), Julie, Tim, Will, me, and Hannah.

Last night was our last performance.  It was a teary goodbye to many a person last night even though we will see everybody at the cast party on Thursday.

I wuuuuuuvv youuuu aalllll!!!!!!!

so be strong tonight; remember who you are; yeah you're a soldier now fighting in a battle; to be free once more--that's worth fighting for

Pride and Prejudice rehearsals have gotten so crazy... I still enjoy it and I don't regret that I auditioned.  The whole cast is like a huge family (like fifty people, okay?).  They are all so crazy and I love hangin' with them. :)

Oh, and the little boys got their costumes done. They are so cute!

Okay, we weren't practicing at this time... the ensemble wasn't needed... this is (from left to right) Rachel, Tim, and Will

Chris and one of the Ensemble's little brothers

Joy (of my heart :) and Kylene

Many of us practicing

Maggie (the gal who plays Jane) and Hannah J. (who plays Mary)

Bekah (who plays Lizzy) and Jessamine (who plays Lydia) LOL

The kids playing around in the sound booth

(from left to right again :)  David (who plays Mr. Hurst and Mr. Collins), Katie (who plays Kitty), then the guy in the back is Scott (who plays Wickham) and the gal in front is Hilary, one of our peeps who takes care of some technical stuff.

Mrs. Funke (who plays Mrs. Bennet) and Mr. Newton (who plays Mr. Bennet).  Geez, I need a family picture, don't I? :)

Luke (who plays Bingley), Hilary (again :), Jasmine (who plays Louisa), and Anthony, an ensemble guy.

Bekah, Miss Carmen (our music-director-lady), and Jeremy (in the cool hat who plays Mr. Darcy).

More practicing...

Well, that's all for now folks :)
