Charotte's Web and More

Our main focus for the month is a unit study on Charlotte's Web along with a lapbook from Hands of a Child.  We have also done a little grammar, spelling and math along the way.  On our first day we made breakfast rolls and pigs!

A couple of weeks ago we went on a field trip to a local airport.  We had so much fun!  It was a very cool day, but we had the chance to see many small planes take off and land.  We even saw a tow plane bring up a glider!  The girls also had the chance to sit in a plane.

A week ago we took a family trip to the top of Lava Butte and to the High Desert Museum.  They were running the saw mill at the museum!  It was really neat.

Our First Day of School

Posted in Tot School

Today was our first "official" day of homeschool for the year.  E started 2nd grade and R started tot school!  We started the day with breakfast and then moved right into school.  The girls each got a little goody bag filled with school supplies and a few craft projects.  Each girl was also given a first day of school certificate.  Then we went into our unit study on Charlotte's Web.  Today was our overview of the book.  The girls also got sheets to color.  We will use these to decorate our bulletin board.
