• Jul. 31, 2007 - Here’s to hopping lightning doesn’t strike twice...

We had lightning hit our house the other day. It was the loudest sound I have ever heard! A lot like a sonic boom. If anyone has been to an air show and heard that, you know what I am talking about. My hubby was just waking up when it happened. It was very unnerving to say the least. Well we had the phone guy come out today and all the phones and the answering machine are all fried, but not the computer! That, he says is amazing! Most of the time he sees the computer being fried. (We just had to buy this computer after both of our other computers crashed within 3 months of each other.) Our t.v., radio, the outside lights as well as the hot tub are also not working. The electrician is coming tomorrow to look at that. We will see what he says. It really has been a crazy couple of days.

On a good note, I was talking with our co-op coordinator and I will be teaching home economics to the 5th-8th grade girls and history to the 1st and 2nd graders. That is what I wanted to teach!!! I don’t have any daughters and my kids are past the fun stage of 1st and 2nd grade so I can’t wait!! I am using Home Economics for homeschooler and Keepers of the faith for home economics and Story of the World book 2 for history.

• Jul. 20, 2007 - an allergic reaction, a baptism and a snake

Well Korey is back from camp & he brought an allergic reaction with him :( We are not sure what it is but have an apt. with the doctor this after noon. His face is all swollen and red, his eyes are glassy and watering, he has a cough and his chest is hurting. We are hoping it is nothing that a good ol' shot wont cure.

On a good note, he did get baptized while he was at camp! Yeah!!! Scott got baptized last year but Korey wasn't ready. I could believe when he came home and told me. He just said, "Oh ya mom, I got baptized, hope that was okay?" :) As if I would not be happy :-)

Anyway, Scott has been out at my in-laws for the last two days and they killed a 5 foot long cottonmouth snake! I thought I was going to die when they told me that. He was on the deck and Scott found him. He ran inside and told my mother-in-law. She thought he was joking (he does that sometimes) but when she saw it she yelled for my father-in-law to come out and kill it! He did and showed Scott all about it. They said he must have been sick because he never moved. I am so thankful for that because they are aggressive snakes and it sure could have got Scott if it wasn't sick.

Well, so that's the update on our week. What fun :-)

• Jul. 16, 2007 - One gone, one still here

Well we sent our oldest to church camp yesterday.  He LOVES going to this camp and has been talking about it all year!  So it's just Scott and I for the week.  Hubby is here to but he will be at work all week and we wont see much of him.

So what do we have planned for our days?  Well we were going to do school, but I thought now why would we do that :) So I think we will just hang out, jump on the trampoline and finish our Wind in the Willows book.  Now doesn't that sound like a fun summer week?  I think so!

My goal this week is to run a total of 3 miles or more plus workout with my friend 5 days a week.  I am so loving this working out and running thing!

• Jul. 12, 2007 - So here I am...

It has been a crazy week around our house.  We started school Monday, well sort of... I plan on adding one subject a week so that we are in full swing by the time co-op starts.  I also started really training for the 10-K some friends and I are planning on doing in November.  I am not very much a runner more of a weight lifter but I am determined to complete this!  It's good to have goals.
