http://www.kinderbach.com?af=698161 Well, I hope so,lol. now that all the holidays are over we can try to get back in order, We have had quite a busy time around here, but who isn't busy when they homeschool, right ? From ripping out a ton of pumpkin sprouts from the childrens bathroom sink drain hole (don't ask) , to a months worth of the stomache virus, followed by another months worth of really bad chest congested colds, and then fevers etc.,etc.,etc., the list can go on and on. We are going to prayerfully stay well and have a normal school day now, right? Does it ever seem like we stay at home moms just get it all at one time to you? I mean we really have our work cut out for us, don't we, but I am not complaining, no matter how crazy things can get around here, I am thankful for the moments I do have, every single one should be cherished. Do we want our children to remember us frustrated or do we want them to remember our love and how much we gave for them, even if it's pulling pumpkin seed sprouts out of a drain hole, that can turn into a lesson of this is not the proper place to plant a pumpkin and go into where it should be and why, but also go into how and why it did sprout because the questions will come up about it being able to sprout in there. Things may seem complicated but we will make it through, I mean hey I still have no gray hairs so somethings working here, right? lol. I know that this may seem a bit scrambled, but hey it's past my bed time. The point I am getting at is always count your blessings even if they don't seem like blessings at the time, praise GOD for those moments too, He is always there and He will work it out ,and in the end your children will appreciate you more for it. So SMILE, Oh and, make sure you show your teeth, lol. good night. ;c) |

I received this contest info from a friend and so I decided to pass it on, it sound like fun for the children. "My favorite bird after the Cardinal, is a Hummingbird. These little birds are the strangest little guys. (well, there not all guys.) I have learned as much as I could for many years now, and really have a lot of knowledge about them. The first thing you need to know about hummingbirds is that they love to fight each other. They really don't like each other, I will explain later. Don't worry about them fighting, thats what they live for. Hummingbirds are so small that almost every creature on earth can beat them up. Frogs, spiders, fish, dragonflies, and even a praying mantis have all made a meal out of hummingbirds. In order to push something around, they pick on each other. Most birds only defend a breeding territory but hummingbirds are one of the few birds that will defend a food source. Almost anywhere a hummer finds food it is ready to fight to defend it, even along its migration route to Central America. However, since it only weights a zillionth of an ounce, the only thing it can attack, without being laughed at, is another hummingbird and an occasional ladybug. If the fighting bothers you still, you could try talking to them and perhaps suggest some anger manageement classes. You can also put up a second feeder, far away from the first. This usually helps the fighting. As the fall and colder temperatures arrive, you may only have young hummers and females at your feeders. The reason you don't have any adult males, is that most of them have headed out already. Male hummingbirds aren't very good parents and as soon as the kids start yelling, they are outta there. (I told you they didn't like each other.) The females stay a few weeks lounger to raise the kids and show them how to find food. So here we go again with the second Sequoia Ministry contest. Here are the rules. Draw, paint, or watercolor two hummingbirds. One male and one female. You must look up to see what colors they are. You can look it up in a book, or the internet. (you will need help from a parent) Tell me what variety your hummer is. Make one or both eating from a plant. Better make sure you have the right plant. Size should be no bigger than 8x11. Ages - 5 to 15 The winner will win $25.00. I will pick the winner on Feb 14th (thats because I love hummers) I will announce the winner in the morning on Feb 14th. To enter the contest you must mail the picture to me with $1.00 enter fee. (hopefully I will get enough to pay the winner off)" Mail your entry to: Sequoia Ministry 8588 Oak Ave Orangevale, Ca 95662 Attn: Ranger Bruce Blessings, Ranger Bruce |

Christian kids left behind – by their parents Posted: December 4, 2007 By Olivia St. John
Raging ideological battles in both California and Iowa reached new levels last week when students packed up their backpacks and left their public schools. In California, parents staged a two-day boycott, pulling students from state schools in protest of SB 777, a bill force-feeding children perverse material and videos vile enough to garner an R-rating in the local multiplex. Meanwhile in Iowa, distressed parents removed up to 200 students after one public high school sponsored an event encouraging students to bend their gender by cross-dressing.
Evidently, some are beginning to wake up to the fact that their children are no longer receiving true education, but are being clandestinely recruited into sick social movements threatening to tear families apart at the seams. As Barb Heki with the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators stated: "Kids are being saturated with anti-Christian teaching, touching not only their minds, but their hearts." Yet tragically, while some Christian parents and pastors demonstrated courage in removing their children from the filth, the vast majority simply looked away and did nothing. This is incredible considering that 85 percent of children from Christian families are being public schooled, and around 85 percent of them are losing their faith by the time they graduate. So the question must be asked: What is currently preventing most parents and churches from taking action as the nation's children are being soul murdered? Child advocate Jody Wohlenhaus, working in tandem with the Iowa Family Policy Center, has observed that "non-believers possess a more clear vision of how to shape children than many Christian parents do." She said they not only get to children early, but they strongly appeal to the children's sympathy by distorting statistics on bullying. In short, they know how to take our children captive. While some parents are screaming inside over the psychological abuse inflicted upon their children, other Christians don't appear to care. And to the detriment of the church, most pastors stand unashamedly mute behind their pulpit microphones each week. In the eyes of some pastors, homosexuality is simply one of many immoral evils, so a negative focus on that one sin is overkill. They completely miss the aggressive intrusion into our children's lives, as the homosexual movement brings the bedroom into the classrooms of children as young as kindergarten. When it comes to actively promoting sin to public school children, the homosexuals are light years ahead of adulterers, fornicators and substance abusers, who haven't yet implemented student-run organizations to convince children that such lifestyle choices are normal. In Iowa, one male transsexual dressing in a skirt, high-heels and a wig regularly speaks to both high school and college students. A couple of "Liz's" duded up presentations are titled "The Bible and the GLBT Community" and "Transgender and the Church." When is the last time you heard of a heterosexual prostitute doing that? So where are the church pastors shouting from the rooftops about these issues? Many are AWOL. For instance, according to the News and Observer in Raleigh, N.C., the Rev. Stephen Davey, pastor of a large, conservative church, discourages Christians from engaging in political action. Davey said, "The mission, energy and investment of the church is not to clean up the evils of society. The mission of the church is to evangelize society." Well, Christ did a pretty good job of sweeping out the moneychangers in the temple and confronting the Pharisees, while spreading the Good News. It's no wonder most young people can't be found in church pews. The church has left them to the "evils of society" to fend for themselves, while church youth groups largely focus on entertainment. Apparently, far too many churches view involvement in politics as nastier than the homosexual indoctrination of children. According to Rev. Davey, "… the greatest danger facing the evangelical church is not the destruction of its values, but the distraction of its focus." In reality, it is the destruction of both church values and church focus that is the problem. Could it be that physical "possessions," both church and individual, have become more important than our children? Consider the following:
While there is nothing wrong with being wealthy, it does become problematic when it prevents people from focusing on what is most important, namely God and family. Thankfully, several highly influential Christian leaders are speaking out. One prominent minister, Dr. Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, speaks boldly to the issue. Deemed the "reigning intellectual of the evangelical movement in the U.S." Mohler urges: "I believe that now is the time … to develop an exit strategy from the public schools. This strategy would affirm the basic and ultimate responsibility of Christian parents to take charge of the education of their own children." More people are beginning to realize that the children have been left behind. Let's all do our part to bring them home. |

Teaching children to serve has come up alot to me lately , and I believe it is a very important topic. We are all children of GOD and as Christians we should want to help others, there are many different ways to be servants to others, to show other Jesus, this world rarely sees HIM and it is very important to teach our children to reveal Jesus to this lost world and to be lights in the darkness. Being a servant is not a weak thing, it is a Beautiful thing and takes alot of strength from GOD and faith in Jesus. feeding the hungry, going to shelters and serving or helping a ministry by funding or donating food to ministries like this one http://www.fhfh.org/cgi-bin/index.asp , helping the elderly. maybe help them withgroceries, meals, around their yard or giving them little gifts to show they are appreciated, going to nursing homes and playing music for them or just talking to them. praying for the nations, helping to fund Misssionaries, or Bible Translations in many different languages for those who have never heard, Did you know that the curriculum company My Father World gives 100% of their profits to this type of Ministry ? the curriculum is also wonderful and put together well http://www.mfwbooks.com . Then you have praying and funding to help the persecutd Christians, ministries like Voice of the Martyrs http://www.persecution.com , and Gospel for Asia http://www.gfa.org/ . you could have your child sponser another child through ministries like Compassion International http://www.compassion.com , helping our troops by sending them shoeboxes full of things they may need especially a Bible http://www.operationshoebox.com/ , let your children give a gift to a needy child for Christmas http://www.samaritanspurse.org/ , let them go to abortion centers and minister to the ladies who are trying to go in and destroy a life, let them volunteer at a christian pregnancy center. http://www.grtl.org/ , this is the Ga site, but you can find other sites from here, I think. There's so so much that we could let our children do to be servants. Also, Let them help more, even if it's not perfect, I mean hey they gotta start somewhere, right? Children naturally also are not fearful, so let's teach them to take a stand, be a servant and minister, so they will never know fear like many adults do and just sit in a corner. Let's raise up A GODly seed now, so they will be prepared for tomorrow. |

I have used so many different Math curriculums and worksheets on my children but none of them have equaled up to this Math, I mean there were times my children were literally in tears with frustration and confusion, but when I used Math Mammoth, they begged for more and their scores were 100 each time. I highly recommend this Math to everyone, It is so wonderful, I am so Thankful that my friend Nichole introduced me to it, I love it, the children love it, and there is peace in the classroom because of it. Also the price is Awesome. you should really look into it. It's the best I have found so far. I LOVE IT. |

We had a great time making our first homemade pumpkin pie, the children did a great job cleaning the pumpkin and making the pie dough flat, etc. it turned ouy delicious too. I let the children make turnovers with the remaining pie dough , they loved that. The one in the pic was broken after handling, but we still put it on here.

We found a Praying Mantis on the front porch and decided to turn the moment into a school moment, so we pulled out one of our insect books and read about what praying mantis' eat and we discussed how they catch thier food, which we knew because we got the awesome experience before of sitting at our back door and watching one catch flies, but we went over that again. And did you know they wont eat dead bugs, but if you take a dead bug and tie it to a string and wiggle it in front of the mantis' face the mantis will attack it, cool huh. we really enjoyed it. My son wanted to hold it so I let him take a picture with it, but told him to be gentle and don't let it close to your eyes or it will spit in them. both sides did a great job, after pics the mantis returned home to his family. ;c) .
