Teaching children to serve has come up alot to me lately , and I believe it is a very important topic. We are all children of GOD and as Christians we should want to help others, there are many different ways to be servants to others, to show other Jesus, this world rarely sees HIM and it is very important to teach our children to reveal Jesus to this lost world and to be lights in the darkness. Being a servant is not a weak thing, it is a Beautiful thing and takes alot of strength from GOD and faith in Jesus. feeding the hungry, going to shelters and serving or helping a ministry by funding or donating food to ministries like this one http://www.fhfh.org/cgi-bin/index.asp , helping the elderly. maybe help them withgroceries, meals, around their yard or giving them little gifts to show they are appreciated, going to nursing homes and playing music for them or just talking to them. praying for the nations, helping to fund Misssionaries, or Bible Translations in many different languages for those who have never heard, Did you know that the curriculum company My Father World gives 100% of their profits to this type of Ministry ? the curriculum is also wonderful and put together well http://www.mfwbooks.com . There's so so much that we could let our children do to be servants. Also, Let them help more, even if it's not perfect, I mean hey they gotta start somewhere,right? Children naturally also are not fearful, so let's teach them to take a stand, be a servant and minister, so they will never know fear like many adults do and just sit in a corner. Let's raise up A GODly seed now, so they will be prepared for tomorrow. |
