Off to Maui today to look at our soon to be "home". Very excited. Our kids are in a charter school now, and will soon be hs'd!!! Yeah! They are giving me sooo much grief for taking them out for a week (and they have independent study packets). I feel so blessed that we will finally start our homeschooling journey this summer!!
Our house is getting painted on the inside while we are gone. We need to do more decluttering before we put it on the market. It seems never ending.
We will read Charlotte's Web and How to eat fried worms while we are in Hawaii, go for lots of nature hikes, go to the aquarium, and Izzi even gets to meet her new violin teacher and peers!!
Lots of changes for our family! |

I just can't get myself to title my entries...therefore, the dates!
Not much to write about...but a lot going on!! Our home just got painted and looks so good! We are trying to get it on the market at the beginning of May...but have tons of decluttering to do! We did find a home in Maui..so on that end we are set!
G-ma and Old daddy were here for 3 days and we had a great time. We went to the property and Griff shot his bow and arrow. The weather has been beautiful. After 3 weeks on nonstop rain...3 days of sunshine feels like heaven! Griff even has his first baseball game tonight-practices and games have been cancelled due to the rain.
The kids are in Art camp and are really enjoying it. They came home with kitty faces today. They are learning and performing a mini-musical cats! Can't wait to see it tommorrow night.
They go back to school on monday...9 more weeks til summer and til we homeschool! YEAH! Cannot wait! |

It's Good Friday today. Not sure why they call it that, since it's a sad day...the day Jesus was crucified. Anyone know??
We had a teaparty next door with the Alexanders and had cream puffs and chocolate covered strawberries. We also made resurrection rolls....bisquits with marshmellows inside and then you coook them 10 min and the marshew (as Griff calls them) disappears. Very cool for the kids to understand what happened to Jesus!!
Then we were outside enjoying the sunny weather. Drawing with chalk and sanding boards. It's supposed to rain for the next 3 days and be cold.
We will be here for Easter with no family. I think we'll go to church and then have an early dinner and go for a hike...*if* it's nice outside!
I'm getting anxious with my curriculm choices. I like Winterpromise, but am feeling really pulled towards Ambelside Online. Decisions, Decisions!
Got our washing machine fixed today and called 2 movers to give us estimates on the cost to move us to Maui. Also called a painter. Our outside painting of our house has been on hold due to the rainy weather. Hopefully next week!
Here is a pic of the resurrection rolls:

So darn mad at myself for not being able to figure out how to customize my blog. My sweet husband got home from Hawaii and asked..."have you added more to your blog?". A big fat "NO". So, here I go...pretty blog or not!!
Great news!! We found a rental in Maui!! And, they will take our dog and 2 kittys! It's on 2 acres in a beautiful neighborhood. We will live in their cottage (3bed/2bath) and the owners will live in their new home. They have a 7 year old boy and 2.5 year old boy. Griff will love that. They ride their motorbikes thru the cane fields to the ocean....I see motorbikes in our future!
We are out of school for 3 weeks. Last week they went to Art Camp and I haven't seen so much joy in their faces in years!!!! It was wonderful. This week we are home with no dance, no baseball, and no violin. Today the kids watched too much tv, played too much gameboy, did a puzzle, started a quarter collection, listened about Beethoven's life on cd, did laundry at the laundromat (our washer died), and read from the book Hoot. Tommorrow we will go rollerskating. It's been raining a ton, so not much to do outside. It's 5pm here...so I need to get dinner started. We went to church on Sunday and even Dad went!! And we went for a hike at Folsom lake...Moki loved it! |

First off...Happy Birthday to my wonderful Mother-in-law!! We need to pack and declutter. We are moving to Maui at the beginning of July for my dh's job. So very excited to begin this new chapter in our lives!! We are having a hard time finding a home to rent that takes pets!! Chris is off to Maui on Monday, and he'll look at a few homes while he's there. We finally picked the color to paint the outside of our house! And it will be painted on April 10th...thinking it will look so wonderful! Scattered, have a lot going on with moving, putting the house on the market, etc...Busy but happy! Just looked at Cathy Zielske's site and I love her style of scrapbooking...very symetrical and simple. She has lots of pictures of herself...something I need to do too. I think it's important that our kids have pictures to remember us too and to tell the story of our lives. Still trying to figure out how to link, put in blinkies, sites, etc..but thought it would be great to start documenting now!! |
