Blog of the Week, a Day Late
Here is my blog of the week for this week. I hope that you enjoy her blog as much as I do. This week it is Missy's blog,  Homeschooling His Way .

I really like her blog because she and I have so many common methods of homeschooling. We both do unit studies. She uses My Father's World and I use The Weaver, of course. We both also use the notebooking method in our homeschooling. She also has crafts that she shares which is also an interest that I have and one that my children love as well. Her blog is very informative about these topics.

Not only does she share about homeschooling , she shares her faith in the Lord and is a very bold witness for Him. She also shares links and information concerning homeschooling and the things of the Lord. I truly believe that you will be blessed and well informed by reading this blog. Thank you Missy.

Here is what we have been doing this week. Monday and Tuesday were pretty much doing the basics and not getting much done with our Weaver unit. Right now we are in Ch. 2. The theme for the chapter is Architecture - Geology. Yesterday we studied about how things change, some can change back to their original form (like ice to water and water to ice again) and some cannot, like people, pencils, and the earth (when it is changed by volcanoes, erosion, etc.). Then I had them do a notebook page on what they learned, giving them the freedom to design their own page. Of course, my children chose to draw picture mostly. Today we will be reading about castles, various types of architecture in history, and the Industrial Revolution. Then we will do notebooking pages for some of the topics, look at pictures of old architecture, and possibly build a castle out of materials around the house. Our Bible study today is about Jesus being our chief cornerstone. This will be on top of our 3Rs, which I need to finish up after I complete my entry here. We have done our math facts drill sheets, our writing assignment, and reading their books. Our writing prompt for the day was to write a short story beginning with the sentence, "The pendant is the way that you can enter the castle."  All we have left to do this morning is spelling word and phonogram quizzes. After lunch we will do our math lessons and the unit study activities. It is a very rainy day here so we don't have the distraction of a sunny day. This is the perfect weather to take a longer time doing school projects.

Let's keep those out in California with the fires and little Noah Estes in our prayers today.

Blessings!
