A FEELING, A MEMORY, A DECISION, and HOPE.
Doris the cat purred happily and curled up in the sunny window. She shivered a little when she thought about how long she'd lived in the streets as a skinny, stray cat. But that was then. now she knew she would never again choose to wander about chasing mice like she used to. It would be fancy cat food for her from now on, served in a fancy glass dish. As old Mrs. Winn patted her soft coat, Doris stretched and hoped that life would always be this good!
Before: And that is the story of how I saved my little sister from drowning.
Sandra shivered with the thought of Carrie screaming and waving her arms in effort to swim while the current dragging her farther out to the ocean. That night she wrote on her diary, : " I hope she won't too far as that again. Tomorrow I shall persuade my mom and dad to give her swimming lessons for they are stil shaken by what had happened. I will forever keep an eye peeled for trouble heading towards my sister's way, so danger, BEWARE!!
I don't have a story yet so I can't do 3.

''Aaah!" Josh, Nick, and Mara screamed as they barely scraped by a hideous, jagged rock.
"Hey, I think we lost the natives,"Josh shouted over the roaring rapids.Inwardly, he felt something is strangely wrong.
Suddenly all became still and quiet, like a calm before storm. The lush green of the trees seemed to hide a treacherous secret. The forest seemed to hold it's breath, waiting and watching for something to happen. The trio looked around at hearing a noise get increasingly louder.
Breaking the silent spell, Nick yelled,"Waterfall!!"Their sweating, cold, hands gripped the rubber handles of the raft tightly....

#3 (as you said,) Sarah and Tom
As I, a piece of gold, was relaxing in the peaceful babbling brook, I suddenly heard a splash and a small, fat, toddler hand stirred the water and grabbed me. I felt myself rising and rising. The hand that held me paused in midair then opened slightly. A voice called, " Emily! Where are you? What's that you are holding in your hand!" I got snatched out of Emily's hand, the nurse gasped when my fabulous brilliance met her blue eyes and I could tell that she was thinking of selling me secretly. But perhaps her conscience and loyalty had taken over because she immediately wiped off that look at her face and brought me to her mistress. The mistress in turn, took me with her floury hands (Did they use flour at that time?) polished me at the corner of her apron and inspected me closer. I fancy she had to make sure I am real. Half-satisfied , Madam grasped me firmly and hurriedly trotted to the blacksmith.
She grabbed the bat and scowled at her brother. He scowled back.
''No girls,'' Sean piped up from pitcher's mound.
''What do you care? She's not on your team,'' Tom snapped.
''Sean glared at Katie for a moment, then shrugged. "Suit yourself. But I'm not going easy on her just 'cause she's a girl."
''Who's asking you to?'' Katie said. "Play ball!"

As Jen and I ran towards the life boat at the beach, I felt a feeling that tingled like an itch when scratched excited my thoughts. It was the same I had before as I got out of bed this morning, and when my family prepared for a vacation last year. When we are about a foot or so from the life boat, it became stronger and clearer. That feeling to me, spelled adventure.

Dialogue or Action (I don't know which) :
"Race you there!'' Jen laughed joyfully as she and Katie sped down the rocky path the beach. Katie easily got ahead with her long-legged self. ''Katie, wait up!'' Jen gasped as searing pain tore down her side. She suddenly skidded to a stop. "What's that?" Katie breathed. "Looks like a lifeboat to me,'' Jen panted heavily with the morning sun beating down on her back.
Question:
Jen hurriedly helped the boy and his younger sister from the life boat. "What happened?'' questioned Katie as soon as they took their first bite of the picnic lunch she brought. The boy looked around the beach before he started .........
Character: Jalina
A flash of lightning crackled through the sky like as if it was splitting apart. Jalina's face paled and she jumped up a foot into the air with her eyes wide while every single hazel hair stood up. I have to get out of here and fast, she thought the second the close by rumbling of thunder shook the tree house. She put on the green plastic rain coat and jumped into her clear latex rubber boots at the same time. Jalina slid down the smooth brown side of the tree. She landed too quickly on a puddle that it made big pancake-sized splatters on her coat. She ran against the chilly wind to the rain drenched house. She stopped to look at herself at a window and gasped at the mess she was in. Jalina's hood had fallen off, her hair was tangled with branches and leaves, and her face, neck, and hands was slick with mud.'' I am sure to get in trouble for this,'' she groaned miserably.
Before: It rained all week during our camping trip
After: The rain poured so heavily that we couldn't see outside the tent, and the wind blew out the fire. The ground was soaked in water. Inside the purple tent was dark and dreary, we felt gloomy because we were trapped inside and cramped with everyone in it. Our eyebrows drooped and Caramel the hamster seemed to sense the atmosphere and now is pacing along her cage. Written on our faces were boredom and misery of all the time we had in our hands with nothing to do. My sister's usually bright brown eyes are dull as the mud that caked my boots. The corners of our smiles are turned the other way around.
Before: Katie saw a scary sea creature at the aquarium.
After: As Katie passed by the aquarium, a sickly bright green creature spotted all over with metallic purple flashed a mischievous menacing grin. She squealed and laughed quietly when she saw the size was as small as a button. It's teeth sickly dull yellow with splotches of black. The eyes, fins and tail are colored with tarnished silver. Suddenly, it started to swell up and expand until it seemed to fill up the whole tank. The crowd screamed, the men stood still with eyes bulging and mouths gaping. The ground was thick with fainting women and the children shrieked and ran out the door. All except for Katie, for she saw the bright twinkle and sly wink in the fish's eyes.
Before: As I entered the cave, I finally found the object of my search- the lost treasure chest of the Ancients.
After: When I entered the cave, it was smelling of bubblegum. As I went deeper and deeper the place became brighter with dull green. Finally, when I reached the end of the cave, I found the treasure of the Ancients. The wooden chest was blue-gray and covered with circular red bumps. The wood is grainy, deep cracks had appeared with time. The lid, which is like lifting one side of a double bed, complained loudly as I tried to pry it open. It was jammed closed. Of course it would not open without struggle, I thought with my brows knitted together. Then, I noticed that the hinges and corners are made of clear transparent metal, the likes of what I haven't seen before. I tested it with my steel hammer lightly, it produced a ringing sound. I tapped the hinges harder, hoping that they would break. And to my surprise it did not receive a single scratch.
My "dead'' words are: Tiny weird miniscule queer interesting plain dangerous
My Tour of the Bedroom
As you enter our bedroom, (my brother and I share in one) you'll see the sides of 2 armchairs side-by-side against the wall.
The wall is on the left. The 2 armchairs are exactly the same, they are wooden with blue covers for the back and seat cushions. They also have one square pillow each.Beside the chairs are 2 black suitcases and 3 clear plastic boxes that are 2 times bigger than a suitcase. Right above the suitcases and boxes are 5 windows. Beyond all that is my wooden dresser with my bags and all sorts of girly things strewn all over it. My dresser sits at a corner, at the left of it is our closet. That's where we keep our clothes (obviously) and my doll collection. My dolls are from different countries around the world with its own national costume.
At the farthest corner there is my brother's side table. Next to that is my bed, my brother's,a door and an old closet with an ancient creaking voice. The door leads to the bathroom at which my parent's bedroom is connected to. The dusty closet has an assortment of boardgames, dingy books and bags. The closet is also at a corner. A tall mirror with a black frame dangles on one of the white walls.

Hi!! I am sick today. Yet I had finished reading 2 books. One is My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George. Which, is about a boy who ran away from home to live in the forest.

And The Winter Room by Gary Paulsen. This book is about the stories Uncle David tells in the room where the family crowds in during the winter. I like Gary Paulsen because of the way he describes things.

On my 11th Birthday, Ma told me to write 11 things that I am thankful for. And here they are :
1.My family. (both sides)
2.My friends.
3.Knowing about God and believing in Him.
4.The food God has given me
5.A roof above our heads.
6.Strong disipline.
7.Good education
8.My father who has a job.
9.Being homeschooled.
10.Having a passport.
11.Meeting foreign people.
for young girls like me. My mom recommended it but I didn't buy it at first. But when I started reading it.. i couldn't put it down... It is an "I" book but very good one at that.
