Writing Class: Lesson 2

Here are my characters for Lesson 2 of Reach for the Stars Writing Workshop for Kids.

Good character

Karana, the main character of the Island of Blue Dolphins, is one of my favorites. Even when she was left behind on the island, she still did not give up hope and hunted, gathered, and waited for the ship tp return. Karana also built a shelter, made weapons and fought her enemies, the wild dogs. I like her because she is independent and knows how to survive on her own.

Bad character

This character is not exactly the least liked one, Wally Bullwinkle of Ginger Pye. Wally is the bad guy who stole Ginger Pye, the smartest, wittiest and cleverest dog that ever lived. He has no right to steal, abuse and use the dog for a circus. This boy like to sneak and steal.

Very good job, Vera! You showed your favorite and least favorite characters with good examples of their traits. This is an important lesson because as you look inside other authors' characters, you learn what makes them "who they are" and that will help you when you start creating your own characters.
You were able to dig deeper and see this in the examples you wrote for me.
Nice!

p.s. Please remember to sign Mr. Linky with a direct link to your next lesson post, as well as the comment. I saw your comment but didn't see your Mr. Linky so I almost skipped it! So you need to always do TWO things for your lessons:
1) Sign Mr.Linky AND
2) Leave a comment
