Writing Class: Lesson 4

This is how my characters turned out after this exercise. I hope they are interesting.

___________________________________________________

Jalina Clatt is an eleven-year-old girl with medium brown skin, recently cut, deep brown with hints of hazel, hair and almost as tall as her mother. Her family is in the middle income class. She's very friendly and quick to have her temper back when she gets angry. Although she wants to stay angry when she is, she cools down before she knows it. She doesn't think when she is angry. She can be diligent and colorfully creative. Amusingly fast on the piano, she can make a soft melodic tune into a hilarious piece. A regular book worm, she reads at a rate of a couple of short novel books a day and would love to write like her favorite authors, if only she can learn.  Her hair looks like an outgrown bush and yet hates brushing it. She is not too obssessed with travel, wearing skirts and dresses and above all, washing the dishes.

Lilane Sash is eleven years, two months, five days, four hours and three seconds old. A girl who belongs to a very rich family who is obssessed with clocks and calendars. Why? Because that is their family business! A deeply tanned pretty girl with greyish-black eyes, black wavy hair that is paper thin and glossy. Slightly tall and agile, she is also athletic but ironically too delicate.  Cruel, deceptive and very sarcastic, she is determined, detructive, spoiled and scheming.  A two-faced girl with a couple of weaknesses. Lil is scared of creepy-crawlies, loves chocolates but allergic to it, delights in pampering her cat, Snow, and wears expensive make-up and clothes even in bed. She finds anyone who stands in her way unbearable. She knows what she wants and she usually gets them. She finds reading books a waste of time.

Priceless! You did a wonderful job turning your notes into full-blown character sketches. What makes yours special are the little things you added to make your characters unique. For example, J turning piano songs into humor with her fingers, the other gal loving chocolate but is allergic to it, and also that she wears her make-up to bed!
I love both your characters! I even like L, even though she sounds like a real pain. But you've created her to be a real person and I see some great plot moments for her.
Nice work.
