Sep. 20, 2008 - New year.

Well, we have started a new year and it is going great.  I am so blessed to have finally found my niche and the boys'. If you have read, we adhere to the Charlotte Mason style and last year we started our curriculum being all CM.  Well, this year we wanted to participate in a Co-op in which the boys have Science and Social Studies.  Tyler my 12 yr old/7th grader is doing Apologia General Science and BJ World Studies.  Tanner, my 11 yr old is doing 5th grade work they are doing Apologia Elem. Science Marine Biology and BJ Heritage Studies.  I am very happy with how it is going.

We stuck with Math U See, Lang. Lessons for the...,  and we have started Sequential Spelling for Tanner, Daily Grams for Tyler , and they are both doing Key to Fractions.  Then literature is mainly for Tyler.  Tanner still struggles with reading.  Although, it is getting way better.

Also, I need to update y'all on Abby.  She is the one I spoke of last time.  She has been doing very good.  Her breathing is way better.  She is able to get out a lot more also.  Mom is pretty busy with her but it is good that they actually stay busy and keep Abby healthy.  We still do our co-op with her.  We do art every Monday am.   She just loves it.

So, now, my biggest thing we are working on now is Tanner's report he has to somehow give this week.  He doesn't even understand the concept of an oral report.  With his speech dis. I am very worried about how he will do.  He gets VERY self conscious about his speech skills when he has to talk to anyone or sing in church much less give a report.  He can't even really read his pages to help him.  I think I just need to allow him to do his pages where he has to fill in the report info. but then take him away to the beach this week.  God has worked that out for us anyway so it may be for a reason.  I don't want it to seem like I am getting him out of this, but he doesn't even understand what he is to do.  I don't want him being laughed at.  I know what he understands about his country but with him having to give this report to the class and share all the details about it in sentences, then I am worried what will come out of that.  I just pray it will work out.  I know it will and I am not a worrier really but my youngest boy is my bigges concern usuallly and it breaks my heart to think of what he struggles with.

Thank you all!!

Jun. 3, 2008 - Wow, been quite busy.

I have been pretty busy.  My dear friends daughter has been in the hospital now for 7 weeks and we have been making sure we get our school in some and also making sure we get to the hospital to see them.  All of this time frame has really made me appreciate homeschooling.  They homeschool and it has really helped them also because they can come right back into school and also, she even gets some up at the hospital now.  I am so glad that we have been able to make family decisions and do what we want as a family and also as friends to them.  If we want to take the day off, we do.  PTL!!!

We are still trecking along through the summer.  We need to def. start up our dif. math but we are doing pretty good.  Also, I am very proud of Tanner and his reading.  Also, we have begun something at night as a family and now, Tyler is getting to where he doesn't mind reading out loud.  He use to hate that.

As a prayer request, please lift up Abby.  She is our sweet friend in the hospital.  Also pray that we stay on track during the summer months.

Jan. 7, 2008 - Starting back tomorrow/today.

Ok, I'll be quite busy tomorrow but we are officailly starting back.  We have our art coop and then afterwards I'll have a little me time. But, then after that it is 'socialization'  time.  You know, they say we don't do enough of that.  We will be heading to the movies with our coop buddies.

Then, when the boys get home, it will be no Wii till after 7 and only for a little while.  I am getting tired of them doing that only since Christmas.  It is wonderul though. Lots of exercise comes with it.

We have ALOT of catchup on math to do.  I wish I knew how to bring the up to speed and help them learn the way Math U See does things but then still get them brought to where they need to be.  They both really don't like math but I'll just have to change that for them.

Ok, later, have a great day!!

Nov. 6, 2007 - Been a while.

Well, getting back into the swing of things.  We got a little off schedule but kept up a lot.  Guess that is what happens when the holidays are coming up.  We have an art Coop going with a dear friend and the kids are loving it.  It is Artistic Pursuits.  I love the flow of it.  We meet once a week and it is easy to pull together.

Math is speeding along too.  Loving my Charlotte Mason approach.  God is blessing us with it.  Story of the World has been cool too.  The boys are realizing they know things that many other kids don't and may never know.

Ok, well, late, but we still have some stuff to do. Love all the homeschoolers and my friends and family.

Sep. 24, 2007 - Going great

Things are going awesome.  The boys are loving the math and the new concrete way of learning. Also, we LOVE out history and science and learning through the living books.  Tyler is also doing a Bible study on Purity on his own and he really actually likes how it flows.-not too much in one day to overwhelm him and embarass him.

We started an Art Co-op with sweet friends of ours and I think it is going to be so much fun.  They are learning history along with weekly projects.  We are doing Artistic Pursuits. Ya'll should check it out.

God is also blessing our family so much right now.  Lots of cool revelations and He is really guiding me in keeping my house in order and presentable.  God is Good!!!

Sep. 4, 2007 - First Day!!

We had such a good day.  Our first day of the Charlotte Mason style and we all like it.  It took us 3 hours but didn't seem like it at all.  Our math was dif. than most days cuz of the introduction and all.  Won't usually take that long.  They went on a Nature Walk.  They really like their language stuff.  Not a bunch of needless work.  I want to get more versed in the CM style and will do that over time.  I have a wonderful lady who lives and owns a HS store near us who is big on the CM style.  I have learned from her. I also really like the Sally Queen books.

Now, off for me to relax a few and finish my coffee.

Aug. 28, 2007 - Planning

WOW, I have gotten so much done today with planning.  I am doing pretty well with scheduling.  As I mentioned before, I am starting the Charlotte Mason approach and it is really going to work with my family.

Tomorrow, planning the year at a glance.  Will also line up my art coop I am doing iwth a friend.

God also has really blessed us.  I realized I bought a personal Bible/ Character study for my son that I was not planning on doing til the middle of the year and turns out, NOW is the time to do it.  God is good in what HE lined up for us.

No, pray for what I do with my HS area.  I want to get rid of our 6 foot table and only use our 2 desks the boys have.  That means I will lose storage too.

Aug. 1, 2007 - On a mission for DH

I have been on a mission all day today for my DH.  Had to go to the great big mall in our area today to a teacher supply store and get things to decorate his Music room.  Then, went to the grocery store to have food to feed him.  I am also planning for next week cuz I will not be here. - Camp with our Jr. Highers.  I have to have food and stuff ready for them. I can't give him a reason to get my MIL down here to help him.

Well, after I get back, will get planning the next trip we have as a family.

I am doing pretty well on Meds today.  Haven't had any weird situations.  Also, think I am really getting use to drinking my water.  Have it with me everywhere I go.

Prayin people, please pray that I begin to lose weight, my health and mind need it!.

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!

Jul. 30, 2007 - Getting there.

I got so much done today with sifting out old stuff.   I don't even have much to put on here right now but need to stay active with it and diligent with it so I won't mess up and stop doing this.

Anyone take Alli? Dr. said I could do it to see if it would help things.

I'll put a little blurb here about that too.  Today is the first day after eating less fat for 4 days now.  I am very conscious of what I eat now. Have to be.  I won't give my starting weight but I'll keep a track of what I have lost.

Jul. 30, 2007 - Late and getting sorted!!

Well, I have been up very late here, 3 am.  I just finished getting the Calendar stuff set back up for dear son.

Also, sifting out old stuff to put on ebay to sell off.  Getting rid of the old eclectic style of schooling and going to STICK to Charlotte Mason.

I am about ready to get to bed, but the cafe is still open so therefore the coffee is keeping me up!!

Jul. 30, 2007 - Great Quote!

The question is not, --how much does the youth know? When he has finished his education-but how much does he care? And about how many orders of things does he care? In fact, how large is the room in which he finds his feet set? And therefore, how full is the life he has before him?
