Musings From the Nut House

We are in Kiev!!!

A lot of God thangs happened yesterday - bottom line: we got Andrei's and Katya's Ukranian International passports! The flight to Kiev last night was cancelled - so we caught the first one this morning, which involved a couple more minor miracles.

I'm (Chad) at the new apartment catching up on some work and Wendy, Sergey #1, and kids are at the doctor that the US Embassy uses for their process. We are now trying to get US passports through the US Embassy, which we hope is less hassle than what we just went through.

A couple adopting an 11 yr old just got through the US Embassy process in 1-day. However, since we have a 17-yr old, it may take another day or two (yet another government office has to do a criminal record check on Andrei). The results have been promised to come in tomorrow (Thursday).

We are hoping to fly into Nashville Friday or Saturday night! But we'll no more later today.

Thanks all!

Hopefully you will be coming home Friday. It is Good Friday afterall. Wendy, I'm so happy to be reconnected with you after all these years! I've been so touched by your story. It's absolutely wonderful! I'm praying for everyone's safe return to Tennessee, and that the kids adjust well to life in the US. They certainly have been blessed with terrific parents and a fine group of siblings, and I know everything will go well. Take care and be safe! I'll be in touch again soon! Love to all...Steph
