We are over the edge ectatic AGAIN! My 2ds8 had WON the Reading Rainbow competition again this year for our state. His book will now go on to nationals and we couldn't be more excited or proud. Here is his winning book:
NOTE: I'm sorry SLIDE is turning the pages so fast and it has cut off some of the words. I'm trying to figure out how to upload this differently so it is actually readable.
I saw you left me a comment, and then deleted it. :'o( Congratulations to your son! What an achievement! Isn't it great to have a writer? I have three of them, but they never write conclusions, lol. Half-finished stories abound.

Hello and thanks for coming back! Actually we DO have a prickly pear cactus, and several other varieties. During the winter my girls picked all the fruit off the prickly pear, smashed it, and used the juice for paint. Happily, it did not stain skin or cement, only plastic. So this year we should have a bunch of new fruit, and I will see what I can do to find info about making jelly out of it. Maybe I could do that in my bread machine... hm?
Also I meant to tell you that your son's book is great! What a good job, and what a great moral. He's quite the 8 yo. :o)
Conversations with myself about the triumphs and tribulations of being a Mama Bear to 3 baby bears, a helpmeet, a CM AO Hs teacher, a Flybaby, a daughter of Eve and a princess to the King.
