MY Grading system

Posted in Kings Highway Homeschool

My oldest son's soccer coach is asking for grades this season and since we are having such a problem just getting the work & chores DONE I decided on this grading system (NOTE: My state doesn't require grades to home school so I grade but not like the public school does).  At this point I don't even care how well the work is done -- just that it is DONE!!!  P.S. I've never had a problem with poor workmanship, in fact just the opposite but getting the work done in a timely manner well, that is just a different story that we hope that this grading system will fix:

A = 5 days of chores and school completed in a 7 day week
(As they get better at this, I will expect the work done by a certain time)
B = 4 days of chores and school completed
C = 3 days and all computer, free time reading, TV, bike riding, dessert and FUN taken away
D = 2 days and miss soccer practice & AWANA
F = 1 day completed and miss game for the week; go nowhere; do nothing but the uncomplete days worth of school.

We will see if it works --- they are up and moving pretty fast today --- I have to keep reminding them to stay FOCUSED but I KNOW I'm not being unreasonable -- they have done this schedule and this amount of schoolwork before in a day's time so I have no reason to believe that I am off my rocker.  I'm thinking the boys are ganging up on mom trying to manipulate me and it ain't gonna happen LOL

Sounds like a great grading system to me. I hope it works for you.
Blessings,
