Oct. 2, 2007 - In Ten Years
1Co 10:12
So that he who is thinking to stand--let him observe, lest he fall. YLT
Are you a person of strong biblical convictions? Are you passionatly observing and obeying the Word of God? Be careful! Those who think they stand are the most likely to fall. God has been speaking a lot to me about this lately. Now, at this point in time, I'm incredibly passionate about staying pure before marriage, and I know why. BUT in ten years or so, if I'm still single will I still have the same convictions, will I still know why ? Not if I don't keep in prayer about it and keep my sword sharp. I think that is the main key to following Christ, is reading the Bible. There is a song by Casting Crowns that goes with this theme.

Be careful little eyes what you see
It’s the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it’s the little feet behind you that are sure to follow
It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It’s a slow fade, it’s a slow fade
Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray
It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you’re thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking
It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away
It’s a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day
Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see

On a different note, I'm finally working on my new template. It's going to be Phantom of the Opera themed. I'm going to start a new blog, just so I can work on it. I'll keep you posted on the username so you can check out it's progress.
Gotta go,
Alycia

Great post Alycia! That's a question we all ought to ask ourselves, "Will I have the same convictions and goals in 10 years if I continue living life the way I am RIGHT NOW?"
Awesome, superb, convicting post. Thank you. :-)

Hi Alycia, You make a good point. To hold on to our convictions we need to stay in the Word! I've never heard that song before, but I like the lyrics. :-)
Have a nice weekend!
