Aug. 12, 2007 - Mike Mulligan Lapbook

We started out the week with co-op learning about personification and onomatopoeia. As the week progressed we added lessons on the following topics: squares, different kinds of characters, steam (how it makes things go), how steam was used in the past, stewardship, vocabulary, construction vehicles, aerial/close-up views in art, and whatever else I may be forgetting.

The lessons are found in the FIAR Volume I manual. Many of the lapbook templates we used are available as free downloads at Homeschool Share (just look on the Mike Mulligan Resource Page-- FIAR Resources Volume I).

Elijah is very active in creating his lapbooks. He dictates some answers to me (and I write them down); he helps with the writing, cutting, folding, gluing, etc.! He even spends some of his spare time making Jason and me little folded minit books that say, "I love you" :)

Awesome Lapbook! I just love looking at all the great lapbooks little ones are making! What a fun way to learn...And a lot cheaper than sending them back to school!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on The Cost of Back To School. It is good to know I am not the only one who was amazed!
