Dec. 14, 2007 - Gingerbread Jamboree Field Trip
Listening to the story.
To the kitchen to learn how gingerbread was made long ago; she even showed them how the spices (nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves) were grated and ground.
Let's check the oven and see if the Gingerbread Man is ready to eat.
He's missing! Run, run as fast as you can and see if you can catch the Gingerbread Man!
Looks like he headed for the barn (the barn door was open).
The horse didn't catch him.
The cow didn't catch him.
The sheep didn't catch him
.
Hmmmm...where could he be? Look! A footprint! We're on the right track!
After following footprints around and upstairs, we FOUND HIM!
After doing some gingerbread dances and having a gingerbread treat, we visited the Gingerbread House Exhibit. (The castles were our favorites.)

Simon...oh, Simon...who do you think you are, Hansel? Don't you know that nothing good every comes from eating gingerbread houses? (I just about had a nervous breakdown when I realized what happened...but what can you do?)

Oct. 26, 2007 - The Finest Horse in Town Co-op
Well, we hit Tammy's farm for this one (for obvious reasons!). I had one group inside learning about the American Flag (pledge, symbolism, and a flag snack). The other lucky group was outside in horse heaven. Then we swapped groups.
The kids even got to pose in a carriage!

Oct. 16, 2007 - Firestation Field Trip
Our group (well, most of our group!)
Future Firefighter in the making? Elijah had a lot of questions for the firefighters including how do firefighters stay safe when there is a fire. He also asked where they keep their food and how many guys can fit in one truck.
The highlight of the field trip! They let each child spray the fire hose!!!!!!!

Sep. 28, 2007 - Honey Farm Fun
We did and learned so much! We arrived at the farm to eat lunch at noon, and we were making our purchases in the gift shop at 3:30 p.m. It was a wonderful experience, and we are sure we will go back someday! It was great to be able to buy a honeycomb to bring home (see my next post for picture).

Aug. 12, 2007 - Little Builders (Field Trip)
We had a fantastic time Friday at Minnetrista. Our guide turned our students into miniature architects for the day and they learned about building materials, safety on the job, measurement, and more! Here are a few pictures of our day:
Elijah helping make a brick from clay
Where's Simon? Playing peek-a-boo with his hard hat!
Painting! Don't worry...it's just pretend.
Working the conveyor belt.
Working the crane!
