I have no greater joy than to hear my children walk in truth

Sep. 12, 2007 - Homer Price and Donuts (Wednesday 9/12/07)

What a beautiful day.  "After school" we took a nice walk outside.  I will say that I am very blessed to live in Maine.  We have the most beautiful seasons.  And where I live is simply breathtaking, we are snuggled right in the woods. We are now coming into my favorite of all season of all, fall.  First I love the change.  I love the colors, red, orange, it's something.  We spent about an hour collecting leaves and looking at the differences between them.  I love the memories fall hold for us as a family. My husband and I were married in the fall. And one year later the day before our one year anniversary we had our first son.  It's just a joyous time of  year.  It's always a time to look back and say "wow God you've done so much"

Here's our daily activity

A Reason for Handwriting (I) Lesson 4 day one and two

Bible (I &E) John 3 (I) God's People and Friendship

Social Studies (I) A child's history of the world ch 6 ("I" was very interested in the Egyptians which excites me because he's in for weeks of study into them)

Math: (I) Subtraction from 11 and 12 Simple word problems

Shapes (E) Diamonds with worksheets

Science (I) Usborne First Guide to the Universe Vocabulary review with worksheet, started our "Earth lapbook" "I" is so happy to do his very first lapbook

Language Arts:(I) Dictation Sheet ; spelling pretest

Reading (I) Put me in the Zoo

Read Aloud: (I&E) Mr. Poppers Penguins

Since we finished Homer Price yesterday I decided today we would make donuts in honor of the kids favorite chapter. Of course we didn't make as many LOL .  I simply bought some premade biscuits and had the boys cut holes from the middle using a cookie cutter.  Then we rolled them lightly in sugar and cooked them in a pan of oil (of course mommy did that) then we sprinkled powdered sugar on them.  I must admit I snuck a "hole" from the batch and it was pretty tasty.  The kids loved this.  I have pics but for some reason it keeps telling me I don't have enough space to post it.  Does anyone know what that means?

Sounds like a great day! Fall is my favorite time of year also. I just love the changing leaves and the coolness of the weather.

Have a blessed day!

The donuts sound YUMMY!!!
I love fall too. Our leaves won't begin to change until around mid-October here in NC and I can't wait. It is my favorite season too! I have some fall lessons planned as well! YAY FALL! The cooler temps are an added bonus. We are still in the upper 90s, low 100's. But yesterday, it was cooler and I could tell fall was in the air! AMEN!!!
Hope your day goes great!
