As an eclectic homeschool family, we are great supporters of our public library. We lean more toward "living books" rather than traditional curriculum, so we make a weekly trek to the library to check out a horde of books. That's why this particular article in our local newspaper caught my eye:
"MORE PATRONS ARE MAKING USE OF THE ______ PUBLIC LIBRARY
Number of items checked out up 10 percent from last year
This fiscal year, from July 2006 through February 2007, 87,000 adult and children items were checked out. That’s an increase from the same period last year, when 78,000 items were checked out.
There’s nothing else like it in the community..."
But then I got to wondering...
"Hmmm... You know, we moved to this town just a year ago. You don't suppose... NAHHHH!!!"
