…Catch the best company by its toe.
If it hollers, make them pay
Enough to support us every day.”
What to do? What to do?
Here are Friday’s results… (sounds like the elections, huh? J)
The investment company never called, so we assume that they have decided to wait until Monday. Actually, one of the guys that Norman had talked to during his interview had said that they would contact him on Monday, where the other guy had said Friday. So, this must have been a lack of communication between the two guys.
The hospital called and postponed Norman's interview until Tuesday, due to someone being out of the office.
But, the office supply company held to their original plans and gave Norman their proposal Friday morning. They really want him to work for them and said that he could start on Monday if he took the job. They even upped the starting salary by $10,000 and threw in the company car. It's getting harder and harder to keep them on the bottom of the list.
In fact, it's just plain hard to know what to do. Norman needs a job now, but we're just not sure if we could make ends meet on this salary. He'd hate to take the job and then have to quit in a few weeks if one of the other companies came through with a better offer. Also, there is the dreaded health insurance coverage to consider. How much would we have to pay into that? Sometimes I get to wondering if we'd be better off just plunking $400/month into a savings account to be set aside for only medical expenses.
Anyway, there are just so many things to sort out and questions to answer. Each company has its own pros and cons, but which ones are most important for our family? Which company would best meet our needs?
We're quickly running out of time, but we just need a few more days.
Maybe Monday will be the day.
No, maybe Tuesday.
*sigh* |
