• Feb. 7, 2009 - Honeymoon in the Fast Lane

We've been studying about the Pacific Islands in our homeschool lately. It was our 12-year-old's idea. Why he would choose to study about warm, tropical islands during our cold, blustery winter session, I'd never know.

This past week, we have covered the Hawaiian Islands, the Solomon Islands, and New Zealand. For New Zealand, we were able to check out a video from our public library. It was very informative, colorful and fun to watch.

While viewing the video, our 9-year-old son announced that he wants to go to New Zealand some day on his honeymoon. His reason why? Because "they have fast go-carts there"!

So... you momma who are raising our 9-year-old's bride-to-be, you might want to add this to your list of requirements:

#137. Teach daughter to love riding go-carts... fast ones.

Cute. Kids have such cute ideas. Of course since he likes go-carts now, he'll like go-carts then just as much. And, of course, it's worth the time and expense of a trip to the other side of the world, just to see those go-carts.

Even though my daughter is sixteen, I'll tell her that she might need to add that to the list of future requirements of eligible males. You never know, that might be a pressing need of sixteen year olds, too. lol

How interesting! We've been learning a lot about New Zealand for the past year, as my husband has seriously considered moving there. Now, my daughter just turned 8 yesterday but I have no idea if she likes go-carts, much less fast ones (LOL!) If it's God's will, there's a 9 year old out there perfectly suited for your fast-driving son!

Are you surprised that I'm leaving a comment!?! Our Internet provider offered an accelerated feature (at no additional charge!) when we re-subscribed this year so we took it. And your blog was our test! It loaded it in about 5+ minutes, which is better than not loading at all! So, I'll be back (hopefully, if the planets all align)!
