Things that make me happy when I make Pies.
Tomorrow I plan on getting a pie post up, but today I wanted to share a few things that make me happy when I make a pie.
Over the coarse of our pie journey I have added two new pieces of equipment that make me VERY happy.
A nice strong hand held pastry blender. I paid $6.00 for it at Meijer. If you don't have one, just go get one. Spend the 6 bucks. You will be glad you did. Then, you too, will enjoy pie making.
I also purchased from the Pampered Chef a pastry mat. It has a non-stick back and won't slide when you roll the dough, NOR does the dough sticketh to it.
It is a little pricey at $29.00, but you will be glad you made the investment. You can roll it up when cleaned and put rubber bands around it to keep it safe and sound.
The juicer and the zester are both from Pampered Chef as well. I have had them for a few years. They are both indispensible. And of course, my old trusty rolling pin.
Ladies! Your husbands need the RIGHT tools in his garage, YOU need the right tools in your kitchen.

I had been wondering what you thought of your pastry mat and now I know. It looks very pretty with all your other special tools around it. :)
