| Today was park Day... only 2 other moms and their 4 kids (total) joined us.. it was nice though..I'm in an allergy induced haze but that's ok..lol. We were going to take the rest of the week to do nothing but looks like we are heading back to Pleasant Valley with a friend tomorrow.. I WILL have pictures of that! |

Well I have lost 5 pounds this week.. I want to lose 21 more at least..31 would be a dream..
I'm being rather "needy" right now.. emotionally that is.. sorry to any IRL friends who are getting sick of me.. hopefully this neediness doesn't sabotage my diet! |

May. 12, 2007 - A field Trip and some bookwork! |
Well yesterday Noah and I had the pleasure of joining a few of the families from out HSing group on a field trip to the Norman Rockwell Museum. Norman Rockwell lived not far from here fo many years..in fact my great Aunt and Uncle knew him! No pictures from the museum itself as they don't allow it...but the tour was really nice, Noah said he really enjoyed it!
After our Tour, those of us that were left took the kids down to the studio to draw for a few before we headed out for our picnic lunch.
I actually "caught" Noah on camera..lol
After all this we headed home.. the wee ones where glad to see us. After Daddy took them to the park Declan and Jadziah begged me
to start out Zoo Animals unit from learningpage.com so we did!
We read these books:
Zella , Zach and Zodiac by Bill Peet
and
A Children's Zoo by Tana Hoban
Of course we did some worksheets.. they just love pencil work!
Then it was be an animal time!
We had Elephants:

May. 10, 2007 - Bald Eagle and more! |
What a great afternoon! After a great morning we went to Noah's guitar lesson..
The wee ones took a quick cat nap on the way!
Noah went off with his teacher and the kids got to play!

Then we got a real thrill!! Beth ( a fellow HS'er and her Dh does Noah's lessons) spotted a bald eagle!! The pictures are not great because the sun was in my eyes so I couldn't even tell if I was capturing him.. but we got to see him circle then dive for the water and fly off..it was awesome!!
Here you can see the "speck" that is the eagle above and to the left of the tree on the right
Now if you look to the left of the picture you can see a speck near the sunbeam that is directly pointing down..that's the eagle with his wings all spread
This one is him over the water just before or after he caught a fish.. I am bummed the pictures aren't great but man.seeing him was so neat! Noah was NOT happy when I told him.. he has a thing for Eagles and knowing he missed seeing one was a wee bit of a downer!
After Noah's lesson we headed to Owen and Lila's house to get some tadpoles!! The kids are very excited to watch them turn into frogs!!

May. 10, 2007 - Lake Day |
Well today we went back to the lake with friends... the kids had a blast again and played for hours with no issues!! It was so nice!

then we let them have at the beach.. what fun these kids had!!
We still have more fun things to do today..but for now we are home cleaning up and relaxing before the fun starts again! |

May. 9, 2007 - Just another day! |
Well another day in the life of US..lol.. today we had Ballet then we headed off to our friends house. We met Robin and her awesome kiddo's thru the homeschooling group and I must say I am so glad we did ( and no I am not just saying this because she may read this..lol). I know on my end we've clicked..her kids are great and they all get along so well!! Anyway we got to go hang out again today.. and the kids got to feed the baby goats!!!

Taejan slept thru the feddings but he did hang out with the goats beforehand:
The kids had a blast playing to..Declan and Owen play really well together!
And of course they all played in the dirt...my kids and dirt!
The girls are starting to hit it off..Lila is shy and a year younger than Jae so it's taking some time for them to really ineract..but they are doing it!
We went for a nice walk by the stream then it was time to see the kittens and head for home..Declan just needed to ride Owens tractor once though!

May. 8, 2007 - Another Busy Day! |
Well we were up bright and early and had the pleasure of walking to the lake with a fellow HSing mom and her 4 kids, then meeting up with another and her 2 kiddos! The kids played at the park for a good log time..only have one picture.. Miss Jae:
Then we let the kids go to the beach.. they were playing nicely in the sand until Taejan just plows right into the water.. needless to say the other 6 kids followed pretty fast ( one was sitting in his stroller so he stayed clean..lol).. apparently it doesn't matter that the water is rather cold and even though it was nice out.. it wasn't HOT or anything..lol
After this was typical naps etc..then when Daddy came home he took all 4 kids to the park so mommy could rest. I was up at 2:30 with a not happy 20 month old and couldn't get back to sleep..so I am WIPED out.. My kiddo's went to 4 parks in less than 24 hours..lol..
Tomorrow we have Ballet THEN off to a friends farm to see the baby goats.. i think I am more excited than the kids..lol |

May. 7, 2007 - Our Day |
Well it's been awhile since I posted.. laptop is dead as we know.. now the desktop is upstairs though so I have more access!
Today was Demo Day with the group.. I forgot the camera..so no pictures.. but it was great.. kids had a blast and Declan did his first ever talk.. I was so proud of him!! After this we came home.. had a nap for Taejan and a chill for us.. then we went out and about.
First we went to a park that has OLD equipment..but it's one we wanted to check out for the group and our park days..so off we went.

After a while on the few things they had we hiked to the back of the park ( it's a good long walk..lol)..The kiddo's encountered a nice dirt pile.. and of course:

After a STEEP walk up a hill.. we had to come down of course.. on the way the kids found a lady bug!
 
Finally we got to the back and foudn the stream Sheila was telling us about..my kids LOVED it!
Can not wait to go back when the water is a little warmer and the air too!!

After this we hit another park that was talked about with the moms toay to check it out! This one is small but the equipment is nice and new!
Best of all.. this one had a small stream too!!! I didn't let the kids go in th eother one because I knew we had other things to do.but now we were just heading home so I let them have at it!They didn't care that it wa sonly 63 out and the water was COLD..lol
We came home to a Golden Lab in our yard.. took awhile to track dpwn her owner but once we did the kids were sad to see her go.. no pictures but her name is Summit and she was soo sweet!
Well I wondered today if my kids had any clue how lucky they are..not to toot my own horn but anyone who read my old blog knows how active we are all year long esp in the nice weather.. I know Noah does, but I doubt the wee ones have a clue at how much they get to do liek jumping in a stream in the spring , and hiking and bug chasing..lots of kids never get to do that.. sigh..someday they'll know right??
Well be watching for more pictures because we have a lot of outdoor fun activites planned for..well the next 4 months..lol |
