Well, I'm here!! Thanks, Micah and Renee for the great intro of me! And now for my intro of me...
I'm a 13-year-old 8th grader like Renee. We are in the same symphony and sit in the very same row in choir. In fact, her birthday is two days before mine. I've taken violin for 5 years and private voice for two, though I've been in choir for 8 years. I also dance, and have been since I was 3 (ten years!! wow), and I've been on the dance team at my studio for 6 years. So you can say music affects almost everything I do. Imagine doing all this and hating music.
But more important than all of this stuff, I've come to know the Lord Jesus Christ personally and I love him with all my ♥. As Paul says in Philippians 3:4b-8, 14 (NIV):
If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless. But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I might gain Christ;14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
The purpose of the bold statements was to make sure you don't take this the wrong way. I'm not saying I'm perfect, I'm far from it; and I'm not perfect at making sure God gets the glory when I use my talents. But life is a journey, not a destination. The most important thing I do is AWANA, a bible club from kindergarten through high school. Without it I never would have found those verses. I'll admit the Bible needs to be a more important factor in my life, and without AWANA and the Bible study I do in school I'd probably never read it. So I've determined to post something Bible-related at least once a month, in the hopes that it will keep me reading. Y'all don't mind helping me, do you??
I leave you now with the tip to read Philippians. It's a very uplifting book, and it reminds me that I have no excuse not to praise God!! For that I turn to Psalms.
You'll get to know me very quickly as the weeks go by!!
Great post, Tabby!
You found a really good way to incorporate the Bible into that. It made me want to go read Phillippians! I'll definitely have to start on that. ;)
So glad to have you with us now! :D
A <3 full of :)'s...

Hey Tabby :D,
It was great seeing you at AWANA even thought the spelling out AWANA didn't work out the best :D. I just read the passage you used this morning, :D and I'm almost done with Philppians. It's awsome that you Renee, and Micah all have a blog :D
Thanks!! Hey, do y'all (Renee/Micah) mind if I send the link to this blog only to Emily D___ and Grace H___ (Renee, you know them). They asked me to let them know when I got a blog...this should suffice, right?
Blessings,
~Tabby ♥♫
