Nov. 21, 2009 - Please Pray...

Posted by Micah

Howdy! I hope you are all doing well!

But, I have a pretty big prayer request...
My 2 older brothers have been sick; one of them, Ethan [18], got better for a day or two but then got sick again. My mom says he probably has bronchitis. :(
Well, this morning, he got up and was all light-headed. Then, he got dizzy and passed out and fell! But nobody was near him... :( Well, when he fell, he gashed his eye on something and (we're guessing) fell back from the impact and hit his head on something else!
All in all, he has a cut above his eye, a bloody nose, and a lump on his head! And he's still sick!!!  So my mom has taken him to a doctor, but  as usual, this happened on a Saturday so he has to go, not to the doctor, but to the far away, expensive emergency center!!

And another thing: My dad just worked extra to get a little extra cash and now he'll probably end up spending it all, and maybe more, today....

This day has had a pretty bad start!! :P
Please pray for my family not to lose heart!!

Well.... They're gone right now and who knows when they'll be back.... So, once again, please pray with me!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!!!

And that yesterday I toured the painted desert and the petrified forest! Ok so you got a little out of me... :P That's all for now, I'll be back when I can!! A :) from... -Micah

Jun. 13, 2009 - Horse camp

Posted by Micah

Hello! This is Micah. My view of Horse camp is pretty much the same as the post below, written by Renee, except that I rode a white horse named Blue.

He has blue tack and a creamy blonde mane/tail. He's SO beatiful and wonderful and magical and I miss him so much!!!!!!!!!!!

He's a retired barrel racer, now 20 y.o., so at the rodeo, the music gets him really excited, and it gives me this really nervous but excited feeling!!!  Mostly because the week before he was bucking at the rodeo!! But Elisabeth, the horse instructor, thinks she knows why.

It was so fun at the rodeo because he was kind of jumpy (like I said above) and I had to control him a lot more than in the practices....in the practices he's actually pretty lazy!! =P

Sorry I'm saying so much about him, but I really miss him....

Anyhoo...

I'm not going to explain the rest of my thoughts on camp because they're almost identical to Renee's, below. However I will put a picture of me and Blue just because I feel like it :

May. 2, 2009 - Scripture Saturday

Posted by Micah

Hello! Today is yet another scripture Saturday! (click HERE to know what I'm talking about) I posted on this blog instead because......well I don't know why, why does it matter anyway?

Anyhoo...

Todays chapter is John 17, NIV -

John 17

Jesus Prays for Himself

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

Jesus Prays for His Disciples

"I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. "I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. "Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."

I love this chapter because it is Jesus praying....and He prays for us!!! Isn't that cool??!!!! He prays for all believers!!! First he prays for himeself [I think] as an example that we can pray for ourselves. Then he prays for his friends, the disciples, which is always nice =). Then He prays for....You! And me! YAY!!!! Well, I don't really know what else to say besides what I've already said so. . .

Apr. 12, 2009 - It's Easter!!!

Posted by Micah

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter!!!! Here is the story of the Resurrection, and remember what the story really means and what it proves (taken from the NKJV):

Matthew 28

He Is Risen

1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. 5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” 8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

The Women Worship the Risen Lord

9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

The Soldiers Are Bribed

11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. 12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

The Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

If you want to read about the crucifixion or the burial, see John 18-19. And if you don't want to/can't read it in your own Bible or you want to see it in different versions you can go to biblegateway.com.

Happy Easter!!!!

This is nuts...I'm being tagged by my own blog! Oh, well, I guess that's what I get for having a joint blog

*note: I will leave renee's answers in parentheses after mine for camparison*

Well, here it is:

1. What time did you get up this morning? 8:50am is when I woke up, but I read in bed till breakfast was ready. (7:15 or so...but I'm still not fully awake =))

2. Diamonds or Pearls? I agree with Renee --> (Neither... but if I had to choose, I'd choose diamonds.)

3. What was the last movie you saw in a theater? Race to Witch Mountain and it wasn't very good (Bedtime Stories, I think.)

4. What is your favorite TV show? I love Lucy! Unfortunately they haven't been showing it very much anymore...=( (Man Vs. Wild =))

5. What do you usually have for breakfast? pop-tarts or a mini bagel or cinnamon rolls or biscuits or whatever my mom makes when my dad is here... (I usually have a granola bar or something like that. Unless we actually have cereal, then I'll eat that.)

6. What is your middle name? Reu, which is pronounced like "roo" and means friend of God in Hebrew. (Renee. No joke! My first name starts with an "E".)

7. What food do you dislike? Food cooked with wine and certain vegetables that kids are famous for not liking =) (Cooked spinach or asparagus.)

8. What is your favorite CD at the moment? I don't know...I don't usually listen to individual CD's "nowadays" because I have an mp3 but when I do it's in the car and then it's not my choice (My choir CD with mixdown on it and, "Ah! Si Mon' Moine!")

9. What kind of car do you drive? When I can, I drive golf carts, but unfortunately, that's not very often.(*laughs* A golf cart.)

18. Are you a morning person or a night person? Um, I'm not sure what a night person is, but I'm not really a morning person, and I stay up late so, if that's what a night person is, I guess that's what I am...?(Neither - I'm an afternoon person. =)

27. If you where a crayon what color would you be? I don't know! How do you tell?! (Blue or green... probably purple. =))

28. How is the weather right now? Nice - just barely cool, the sun's just starting to go down, but it's not low enough to call sunset yet, and it's windy. (Fine, I guess. This afternoon it was hot and sunny.)

34. Summer or Winter? Winter! (I like spring, personally.)

35. Hugs or kisses? I would say hugs, but I agree with Renee that Side-hugs are better (Side-hugs... I don't like full-on hugs.)

36. Chocolate or vanilla? That depends on if we're talking about perfume or ice cream or candy or etc.... (Vanilla ice cream, chocolate bar)

37. Coffee or tea? Uh, I don't like either, but if I had to choose I'd choose tea...coffee's gross! (Ew... gross! Neither!)

38. When was the last time you cried? Hm, let's see...nope! Can't remember! (It's been so long, I don't even remember!)

39. What is under your bed? A matress, one of my Bibles (don't worry it's not actually on the floor...it's on a bed! Well, at least it's on a matress ;), a devotional book, a little fan, and some other things I knew I'd need at some point, but didn't know what to do with. ;) (My desk, and a desk chair, and some books, and some paper, and a lamp, and the floor, and a little dresser-like thing...)

40. Salty or sweet? Again, that's really too wide of a subject! (It really depends on the thing. I like my french fries salty, not sweet. But I like my ice cream sweet, not salty.)

41. What are you afraid of? Spiders!!!  (Failure.)

42. Do you make friends easily? Um, no, not really  , but I have to wonder; who does? Doesn't everyone just have their friends and sometimes someone might ask to be you're friend and if you're nice you say yes? (Er... not really... It depends on the person, though, and the situation.)

I tag... whoever reads and comments on this entry first!!!
